When I mentioned this yesterday I was met with the... quit trollin' group attitude.

I'm not going to discuss any further than what I did yesterday or on what Cowherd repeated today but this stuff is going on right now.

IMO he's being mentioned because he has the Irish rolling. Same stuff we see every year with the hot coaches. The only way I see BK leaving, is if he grabs the natty.

Why would any NFL team want Kelly?

A dude at his age with literally zero experience at the professional level? That seems wild to me.

I'm not sure it's about NFL teams wanting Kelly so much as a handful of sportwriters/talking heads wanting clicks. (And perhaps Kelly's agent wanting an extension).

If you guys don't think that at least one NFL team looking to turn things around wouldn't be interested in what Kelly has been able to do here at ND recently, you're only kidding yourselves. I don't want him to leave and hope he stays if offered, but I'd be very surprised if he wasn't offered an NFL job somewhere.

Why would they look at BK when there are young talented guys like Kiffin available?

James Franklin isn’t saying he wants the USC job, but he’s not NOT saying it.

If they think Jeff Fisher is the answer when "out coached" Clay Helton is not....

Fisher and Del Rio are both unemployed right now. Fisher is 60 years old and has NEVER coached in college. Del Rio has also NEVER coached in college.

I fail to understand why they'd be the two names on the top of the list. They both played at SC. So what.

But Jeff Fisher took the Titans within a yard of a Super Bowl in the 1999 season!

I think a pro guy is the way to go. Carroll had been in the NFL for 15-20 years when he took the job. You need a guy who doesn't mind living and working in LA. It's not for everyone. And in spite of what the average sports fan thinks, SC is not an easy job. If it was, they'd be 11 game winners every year but they are not.

I don't see Fisher being the type of guy to deal with today's SoCal HS diva's. He's Buddy Ryan's adopted son.

Del Rio, sure. He comes across as the quintessential SC type. And you know SC wants a HC not a OC/DC.

Others I'd look at:

Joe Barry - Rams DC - An SC guy

Gus Bradley - Chargers DC- Coached under Carroll as Seattle's DC

Aaron Kromer - Rams Pass Game Coordinator and fellow schoolmate of Crusaders at the Cradle, Miami U.

Or the best answer to restore some luster and piss on Stan Kroenke's leg =

Hire the other Miami U guy. Rams HC Sean McVay. Just 32 and the reigning HCOTY in the NFL. Use that endowment for what it's meant for... football. Open up that checkbook.

The best HC candidate on the market may not be there when USC finally decides to hire someone. I wouldn't wait for the Browns to have first pick.

Obviously I'm talking about Condoleeza Rice.
