One thing that jumped out for me right away was how good Martini and Tranquil were with using their hands to defeat cut blocks. Really textbook at times.

The 2 edits in the OP are hysterical. I can't stop laughing.

A lot of great things I saw out of both the team and Kizer. Loved the play where Kizer went through all of his progressions, saw nothing and then rolled to his left to run for a first down. Kelly really put him in a position to succeed I think, maybe minus that fade on the goal line.

To do it Keith Arnold style...

GOOD:
-Defense was A+ for 99% of the game. Literally could not have been better. GT's lone TD was the result of all kinds of holding to set up a big play that a JV high school ref should be able to catch.
-CJ Prosise -- despite clearly being banged up -- ran with authority. 200 yards and 3 TDs is pretty epic.
-Will Fuller big plays.

BAD:
-From a "running the offense" standpoint, I thought Kizer was shaky. Really late getting the ball out sometimes, and other times he was really inaccurate. This is to be expected. I hope he continues to improve with more reps. But he wasn't on the same page with his receivers multiple times, and he missed important throws. If the goal is to win 9 games this year, what he showed was good enough... if we want a championship he's going to have to really improve. He was dealt a tough hand with limited reps and it's on the coaches to make the best of it.
-Drops.
-False starts. Clearly a cadence issue, Stanley unfairly got bulk of blame when multiple people would flinch. Some of them were drive killers.
-Kicking.

UGLY:
-Onside kick fielding. Guys looked confused on the first play with who was supposed to block versus field the kick... and all but Schmidt looked tentative on the second one.
-That endzone INT deserves its own bullet. WOOF.

One thing I wanted to point out again was that we really needed to go for 2 to go up 17. Every chart I see online says go for 2 and I really don't see why you wouldn't. Georgia Tech would not have had a chance if we had converted 2 points. Instead they were an onside kick away from a hail mary to tie it.

Drinking game next week fellas: every time Flutie refers to some player "sticking his nose in there" or some derivative thereof, you take a shot. I.E. goes silent before the end of the second quarter.

Pros:
*Pretty dominating performance, particularly on defense. ND was clearly the better team
*Best defense I've seen us play against triple option...ever. Jaylon and Joe Schmidt are phenomenal.
*Great penetration on defense getting to their quarterback
*Offensive playbook simplified
*Offensive line and pass protection was solid
*CJ Sanders might be our best punt return option since Golden Tate
*Fuller for Heisman might start gaining traction. That 3rd down leaping catch in the 2nd quarter was a huge play in the game.
*Chris Brown finished the game really strong after an awful start
*Farley with the forced fumble right after halftime was huge.

Cons:
*Way too many false starts
*I don't trust Yoon in a big spot. Nice to see him make that fg in the 3rd quarter though
*I feel like we have so many weapons on offense that never get used (Tori Hunter, Corey Robinson, Carlise, ESB)
*Alize Jones is a major disappointment so far but still early in his career
*Tranquill's injury. We're not just getting injuries...we're weekly getting 1-2 season ending injuries.
*Absolutely hated Kelly calling timeouts in the first half to get the ball back. Maybe i do that if Zaire was the QB....but with Yoon shaky and a rookie QB i'd take 13-7 at the half any day instead of expecting him to run the 2-minute drill.
*I just get the feeling Kelly doesn't have too much confidence in Kizer. Maybe that's just an indication of how good Zaire was in camp.
*Why do i have a feeling at the end of the year 30-22 vs. 30-7 might make a difference to the ignorant college football analysts who didn't watch this game.

From my rudimentary understanding... I'd be shocked if it wasn't an ACL for Drue. Maybe an MCL. "Manual tests" aren't definitive but bank on him being done for the year.

I was thinking the same thing. Everyone going to talk about it being a "close win" and "not blowing anyone out" instead of it being a 30-7 throttling.

@TJamesNDI: What kind of memories will Georgia Tech FB Patrick Skov, a former Stanford player, have of #NotreDame Stadium? "S***. Nightmares."

I really don't think there's anything to worry about. We go undefeated we are in. We go 11-1 margin of victory over Georgia Tech won't matter. The only thing that will matter is the records of the other teams in the hunt.

I said that the I was scared of what defense showed up. Well I am pleased to see that the defense came ready to play.

Kiser looks OK needs to improve though.
Fuller is amazing
CJ Is much better of a back then I thought he would be.
We won against the option and even though the score didn't reflect it it was as close as the scoreboard said.

The o-line wasn't overly impressive.
The play calling in the red zone is head scratching at times.
Our special teams will never be good under Kelly.
The penalties are the inexcusable.

Great win!!

Defense:

- Everyone knew their assignments, and were disciplined in execution.
- First three and out set the tone. GT confidence not as high and they looked a little deflated.
- Martini is a solid open field tackler. He had a good game.
- Everyone saw it. Everyone knows it. Jaylon is a beast. I'm starting to think he may be an alien...

Offense:

- Game plan was fairly vanilla, but it's nice to see Kelly has confidence in Deshone throwing the deep ball. He can chuck it...
- Josh Adams had a great block on a blitz. I think that kid is going to be good.
- I was hoping to see Justin Brent go in at RB. We need one more back in the rotation.
- I would let Will Fuller marry my daughter...

Special Teams:

- Not so special.

Did anyone else notice how calm BK looked throughout most of the game? First time I saw him agitated was when a ref made a bad call.

Good:

We beat Va Tech
The defense came to play
Prosise is a man
Fuller hasn't been stopped yet

Bad
We are going to get killed by a team with a pass rush. Kizer took forever to make his reads. This must speed up or we will be in big trouble.

Too many drops, that will hurt us in a big game

Special teams continues to disappoint. Yoon must be better, kickoff coverage, punt coverage and the return game really need to gel at some point.

Penalties will hurt us against a tough opponent.

Prosise shouldn't e asked to rush 20 times/game. Hopefully we show up for work next weekend and allow our backups some time as well. Not looking past any teams but hopefully we handle business.

Well, let's hope Texas can string together some good wins.

No because they would have gone for one on the first TD and would still be behind by 8. They would have no way to win the game in regulation.

Hail Mary and a 2pt conversion to tie....much more difficult than a Hail Mary and a extra point.
