Can't imagine that a spring schedule, even an abbreviated one would work for several reasons.
1. Players are playing two seasons pretty close together, with not a lot of time to recuperate.
2. Players that are seniors might sit out spring to avoid injury and risk getting drafted.
3. Some juniors who already have thoughts of declaring after the coming season may opt to sit it out.
4. Rosters could be significantly reduced with a lot less depth if #1 and #2 happen.
5. B1G teams like Wiscy. Minn, Iowa, scUM and Nebraska don't want to be playing in February.
6. Games in February would probably have very low attendance. Schools need the revenue.
Could a push for a spring season be to avoid the scholarship issues they already have for the fall sports that were cancelled?
All good points. I would add
7. This virus has a 99% survival rate, and college kids are on the lower end of risk as a whole. Let them play.
8. A lot of these schools (Ivy removed) are in BIG trouble financially if there is no fall football.
