I would wager it being on vacating victories and/or self imposing a scholarship reduction(not that we already don't do it)
I don't really understand journalism.
What is the point of "breaking" a story when you can't even say what the story is. I just don't get it. I understand not revealing your sources, but why say anything at all?
Exactly. It's annoying. Nobody wants to sit and wait a day or two for bad news. Just keep the shit to yourself.
So I suppose the point is to get more attention so that he will get the bump when the story breaks as opposed to fighting everyone when they all break at once. What is the journalist gaining professionally?
I suppose maybe if he ends up being "right" then he gains some credibility but what if someone beats you to the story or what if people just get mad at you?
Just don't think of the ND writers as journalists anymore...
Their job is to generate discussion and clicks as much as it is to deliver actual news and information.
Writing about a football program isn't the same as writing "the news" anymore, at least for the ND-centered websites. The closest you'll get is the beat writers for actual newspapers.

No, but people will look to his twitter feed specifically because everyone will wait for Coach D to break the story.Generating discussion on IE isn't helping him at all. He isn't generating any clicks from anyone who isn't a member either.
As in he will have an article ready before everyone else does? How does that change if he just doesn't say anything to the public? He would still be first to the punch when the news breaks.

I would guess injury.

I think vacating victories would classify as something people would be upset about. Schollies? Probably not so much so long as it was minimal for the reasons you said anyway.
Vacating victories would definitely piss me off.

I'm with Ndaccountant. Vacating victories would piss me off. Schollies I could handle, it's not like we don't self impose reductions each year anyway.
its just like reggie bush getting his heisman taken back or usc vacating the wins...EVERYONE remembers them happening....but i guess seeing your responses i guess people would be upset...i could care less
Lennay turns out to be real?
Too soon?

Sounds like Elmer maybe?
