It's not great news, but I don't think it's something that people are going to be too upset about. More questions than being upset.--rivals

this was a direct statement from Driskell

ALSO-Not about a coaching change

Rules out Longo getting canned, SMH.

per rivals---"As a staff we discussed this and all felt it was appropriate to respect the wishes of those we spoke with, but also felt it was best to give people a head's up that something was coming once the news was confirmed in hopes of creating a level of expectation that would ideally temper the reaction a bit"-driskell

Any idea when this will drop? I mean the real news, not all the worthless teasers.

Maybe, but who would have questions about that? The comment 'it's going to raise some questions' doesn't strike me as Elmer. If Elmer were to hang it up, my response would be thank you, see you later.

Yea other people have been speculating Elmer but if it's him Rivals is making this sound like a bigger deal unnecessarily. It's not like Zaire or Alize is transferring (knock on wood).

Why would you even put that out into the universe?

If it's Elmer, then Rivals is going to lose all respect from me. Every ND board on the planet has discussed Elmer and his situation is an understandable and part of open conversation. If they made a "warning post" about the dreadful news about to drop on the ND fanbase, and it turns out to be the openly discussed situation of Elmer, than their integrity is absolute shat. If there is anything left to begin with...

I'm not an isd member but someone on 247 said Mike Frank---who is much more tied in than Driscoll---has told the ISD members that he's aware of the news, that it "is not anything to be overly concerned about" and that "it has been discussed on the ISD before."

hmmm now i wonder if it's Nyles Morgan leaving...just happened to catch a tweet of him just now stating "Can not wait to see what awaits me." if it wasn't around hearing "some bad news" then i wouldn't have thought twice...just a thought

Pete Sampson says he thinks it's related to the academic misconduct investigations.

Every ND board has discussed Elmer, but Rivals tried to stay out of it. Reasoning is the sources within the program said not to release the information until it's concrete. Rivals respected that, while others chased the being the first ones to break the story. This got Driskell upset, and he ripped Mike Frank for doing that. Now that it's concrete, this is probably why he posted on the forums telling folks to be prepared for some news.

Bullshat... It wasn't Mike Frank alone the leaked the news. It was common knowledge around campus and open discussion on every board.

Also, excuse me... but I find it silly that a dude with 28 posts comes on here vehemently defending Rivals. Let me guess... a loyal subscriber?

I would be pretty disapointted if Nyles Left. I just don't get why he would now though? He would have to sit out another year, then have two years of left somewhere else?

People would be pissed if Nyles left, and he doesn't seem like the type to leave. He tweeted 'never bail on your brothers' when Jonny Williams packed his bags. All my vbucks Nyles is on our team in 2016.

I wasn't defending Rivals, just stating the Mods there never came out and said it. Mike Frank was ONE of the "journalists" who leaked the info, and a subscriber posted it on the ND Rivals boards. Driskell responded being pissed, stating this has been known for some time, but they were told to keep quiet until it was concrete. Also, wtf does the # of my posts have anything to do with this??

I don't understand why the staff didn't redshirt Nyles if they weren't going to play him much?

Agree, but not about Nyles. I don't think BK knew he wasn't going to play. That said, my biggest beef with BK (whom I love) is his RS-ing.

I also think BK probably realizes that Nyles Morgan more than likely won't be staying at ND for 5 years.

The staff needs to do a better job with redshirting. If you plan on playing a kid 3 games in mop up duty you should just redshirt him.

He also tweeted the following yesterday:

It's crazy you have to wait til it's dark to see whose really with you.

Okay, you don't like my injury report hypothesis, how about this?

ND is changing their defensive scheme. Really big news, could include BVG staying, could be making it Morgan friendly. It would raise questions as to why it hadn't been done earlier!

And here is something else I just saw :

Some important factoids for pro and anti Kelly factions. Please note that the five years used to select, included BK's first years at ND. That notwithstanding, ND is not a bad place if you have NFL aspirations :

Here are the top-10 coaches ranked by conversion percentage, via Pick Six Previews:

1. UCLA’s Jim Mora – 56%
2. Clemson’s Dabo Swinney – 53%
3. Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh – 46%
4. TCU’s Gary Patterson – 43%
5. Alabama’s Nick Saban – 38%
6. FSU’s Jimbo Fisher – 37%
6. Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen – 37.5%
8. Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly – 35%
9. Ohio State’s Urban Meyer – 34%
9. Miami’s Mark Richt – 34%

Note : this is based upon number of four and five star players recruited that are actually drafted in the NFL.

Nyles has like 50K tweets. I followed and unfollowed him within like 8 seconds. You can't even ride a bull in that time. I wouldn't look into his cryptic tweets.

Other than a couple of cases on the DL, I can't think of many others. Curious as to your thoughts.

It's hard for me to think it's Nyles when presumably he will be the out right starting MLB. Why would he leave that voluntarily.

All speculation - too many variables currently.
