So, I'm trying to figure out if ND needs to win out to guarantee a spot in the ACC Championship game. Can someone shed some light on this? If ND loses one game (to any of the 4 remaining opponents) and Clemson and Miami both win out, is there a scenario in which ND could get left out of the ACC Championship game with only 1 loss or would they have to lose twice in order to possibly get left out?

https://theacc.com/sports/2020/9/23/FB_0923200510.aspx

Per the link above, without divisions, it will go to the two teams with the best winning %. If we only dropped one, we would be a lock since we beat Clemson and Clemson beat Miami (FL) unless COVID wreaked havoc and we had to miss a game or two. Hopefully it doesn't come to that.

Take care of business every week. We are in the driver seat.

If ND wins out or drops a game, they are in. They would have the head-to-head with Clemson, which is the immediate tiebreaker. After that it's based upon win % as long as the teams have played within 1 game of each other's total.

The only one loss teams are Miami and Clemson. ND holds the tie-breaker over Clemson and Clemson holds the tie-breaker over Miami. ND can lose one and they are still in no matter what else occurs.

Anyone know if tickets are being sold to the ACC Championship game? Can’t find any online and no mention on ND’s website. Would be pretty cool to go, especially since the stadium is just a couple miles down the road from me now.

https://www.espn.com/college-footba...sfer-portal-two-years-devastating-knee-injury

Was just reading about the kids rehab back to football shape from that terrible injury a few years ago. He seems eager to play. I wonder if ND would entertain (or he would even be admitted) snagging him for a year out of the portal if he’s still an able QB. That would give Buckner some time develop and would make some sense if Pyne and Clark aren’t up to par.

Wonder if he will end up at Nebraska with Scott Frost? They have more problems then QB, but he would likely be a plug and play guy due to familiarity.

I received an email from ND today that made it seem like it would be family, faculty only and maybe students, however they could be on sale secondary market.

As was announced Tuesday, Notre Dame will play in the 2020 ACC Championship game on December 19th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Congratulations to our student-athletes and coaching staff for all they have accomplished thus far!

At this time, we are awaiting final ticketing information from the ACC for the championship game, but we anticipate that ticket availability will be extremely limited due to Covid-19 attendance restrictions. In the event tickets are available for purchase, more information will be provided at our earliest opportunity.

Thank you for your support of Notre Dame Football.

Can’t take an article seriously that doesn’t have JOK on it when considering top 10 in the ACC. Really, it should probably have Hamilton on it as well.

The ability to change and be dynamic since 2016 has been remarkable.

25 years ago beingthe only team on National TV weekly changed and lost a big recruiting advantage of it.

Where we can get that advantage back especially in recruiting, is the fact that ND is being watched by more viewers than any other program. That's an easy sell to top tier kids.
I imagine ND getting 2-3 absolute difference makers/5 stars each class moving forward under BK.

Couple that with the way ND is developing players into.max potential and that's a recipe to Wake up the Echoes
The Sleeping Giant has been woken!
What a time to be Irish!

Refreshing to hear this take fro ma non-partisan voice. Well-written, indeed.

I think the one point he left out was how much weaker our SOS got after we joined the conference but just nit-picking at that point.

My favorite part of this COVID season is we can point to OSU being in the conversation with 5 less data points than the other contenders, so in future years, they can shove that "13th data point" where the sun don't shine.

The 13th data point in regards to ND and playoffs was always a nonstarter. A 12 -0 ND team would be in the playoff. 11-1 is where it would get dicey.

I didn't know where to put this.. But I just love the ND social.media around signing day. These little Gold Rush videos are exceptional.

Kinda surprised that Banks got 1st team, but hey congrats to all the guys!

Now just to tell Banks to top it by getting 1st team at OT in 2021...

I resoundingly buy all that.

I'll add:Honorable mention --- Hainsey, Book, KWilliams, Hinish, Ogen=== (spelling, sorry; I'm really blanking on his name --- and likely am alone in rating him this well, but I've really liked what I've seen from NDs DE opposite our veteran, DHayes --- who also played well this year), ... and freshman and newcomer AAs: Mayer, Foskey ... pre-injury AA: Patterson.

Gentlemen, we have had lots to be thankful for this year.

Surprised Hamilton is 3rd team. Should be no worse than 2nd.

Would anyone think about moving Hamilton to rover next season?

I don't want to mess with anything with him but rover seems like the premier position on the D.
BK just said he thinks Hamilton will improve his blitzing in the off season. Maybe he can have a bigger influence on the game at rover.
