He had a great game. Blocked an elite pass rusher all game, looked great down field, and his sideline catch was clutch as hell. Plus, he got two feet in, NFL style. Definitely gave himself some game tape for scouts. Hopefully he continues to ascent.

Didn't catch his blocking game but one play that was analyzed on TV was when McG pulled to his side in the flats and Durham was to come down on Chubb...that didn't happen lol. Chubb had a TFL that play. Aside from that, if he did good, then great. It's just that's the play i remember him blocking Chubb because they called it out.

Is there a more satisfying way to win than running the ball with a dominating O line, and a good hard hitting defense?

I noted that play as well. However, when going against other "elite" players, which Chubb is, the opposition is going to win some battles. I think what Driskell is stating is that Smythe won the war.

Nope. The advantages of being OldAF.

I don't know who else is eligible, but I wouldn't have pegged Smythe as a top 5 prospect. However, I do think he's playing like a guy who will be in the league for a while.

Reminds me of Dallas Clark.

what's the deal with CJ Sanders? last year he was getting lots of opportunities on offense I have seen him only get maybe one play this year? Is it because of us focusing more on running? Need more big body guys in there?

I think it's a combination of factors. Bigger WRs for blocking, fades, etc. Finke has outplayed him in the slot. Also, didn't he have some ball security problems last year?

Is it weird if I say the following formation and play made me rock hard during the game?

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/dEjgWb2n38Y?start=3830" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

3rd and 3.

3 TE's.

I-formation.

Power-O.

There were plays on the goalline where we had all four TEs in the game. Triple TE set with Wright (I think) in as fullback.

I haven’t went back and watched the game yet but Driskell posted that Smythe certainly got the better of Chubb on quite a few plays. His exact phrase was Durham made some money this weekend. Referencing scouts taking notice of his play. I’ll be interested to key on that when I do re-watch it.

I thought Chubb blew him up, a lot. Chubb's only sack came off of Smythe. To be fair, I think Adams was supposed to help Smythe out, on that play.

Speaking of blowing up, if you rewatch the game notice Kraemer on the first series. He gets just blasted a couple of times early. I think he recovered to play nicely because I didn't notice after that, but man did he get hit early, lol.

Mel Kiper, Todd McShay Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs top playoff teams right now

Quite a bit of love from ESPN for ND. Also of note, Kiper is saying that Nelson is grading out as the highest graded OG he's ever scouted in his 35 years of doing this. He thinks he's going to be a top 10 pick. That would be awesome.

Agreed and it'd be great see McGlinchey follow him shortly after. Keep building that rep so we can continue pulling in the top OL talent.

I haven't see any updates since fall camp. Barring injuries, only Ewell is in a position to play next year, and that is if Tillery were to leave early for the NFL. Wardlow has D. Hayes and Okwara in front of him, and those guys are only getting better. And Mcollister will have Jay Hayes and Kareem in front of him, and it's the same situation. Neither of those are guys are needed, they'd have to take massive leaps to get on the field in any meaningful way.

With that said, I did read positives about Kofi's raw athleticism and tangible traits.

Don't get the rather severe skepticism about Smythe (given his performance this season.) I've seen three NFL draft rankings which have him 12th (Walter --- not updated since early October), 8th (Drafttek), and 7th Cooney. Drafttek and Cooney rate him in the top 200 eligible players. Projection:5th/6th round.

I think Smythe is a good TE. However, I do not think this offensive gameplan will help Smythe get the stats to make him a top TE draft pick.

Agreed, and without elite athleticism (which I don't think Smythe possesses), he'll be downgraded even further. The kid will get a shot at an NFL career; he just probably won't start as a high draft pick

USC was a route so never was going to get late viewers looking g for a good end. Georgia game was too early, remath this Saturday has all the views. ND vs an undefeated Miami should draw a good number
