Bran told Sansa and Arya about Jon's parentage (at his request) off screen. That's it.

Thinking back it's actually shitty that they didn't show us Sansa and Arya's reaction to that. Good opportunity to showcase their acting skillz.

Speaking of Sansa...

A cool little "theory" about she could be using her Little Finger "training" atm... This would be another way for the writers to flip the script for some jaw dropping, but...not happening.

I wish I could get into the theories at this point, but they just aren't pulling me in like they used to. With only two episodes left, we are unlikely to get a reveal of some complex, unexpected narrative thread.

Jon is gonna kill Dany, or Dany is gonna kill Jon. That's basically what this boils down to.

We'll probably get Cleganebowl, because fan service, and Arya will probably live, again because fan service.

Varys is almost definitely gonna die, because we found out that Melisandre actually REALLY knew her shit, and she said he was gonna die upon his return to Westeros. There's no way that the show leaves it as an unresolved thread for us to just assume that it happens down the line.

Jaime is almost definitely gonna die. It's the perfect close to his redemption arc. Either he completes the redemption and dies in the process of trying to kill Cersei, or he refuses his redemption and dies trying to save her.

Cersei is gonna die, because the final conflict is set up to be "Jon vs Dany," and you can't have that as a worthy final question unless Cersei is gone.

Everyone else is gonna live, or else it won't really matter if they die.

Unrelated kind of, but I really thought the last "surprise" was going to be Yara showing up with Daario and the Second Sons to help offset the presence of the Golden Company.

It could still happen, I guess, but it's basically a moot plot point. Yara's service would have been to counter Euron's fleet, but that's unnecessary now. They're at the gates of King's Landing; the sea is a non-factor.

Supposedly we still have 1 big WTF moment left.

I think it is likely the death of Jon or Dany, and it's considered a WTF moment because many viewers will be shocked that it happens at the hands of the other. We've been talking about it here for a long time because of the various theories that have been discussed, so we are kind of numb to the possibility.

Many people who watch the show aren't on the internet discussing every possible theory like we do, so they're gonna be shook.

If it's a TRUE wtf moment for everyone, I'll feel better about my prediction that Dany kills Jon. It would be the "lover kills lover" twist, which will surprise many people, but with an added layer of twistiness. Very twisty.

Dany burns Jon alive and is unrepentant. "He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon."

FURTHER TWIST:

Dany thinks he has perished in the flames, but Jon is unburnt, because he was already made a fire-wight when Melisandre brought him back to life.

He walks from the flames with a red-hot Longclaw, and runs it through Dany's heart. Drogon bows to him and roars his approval of the new foundation of the Targaryen dynasty.

Saw this on reddit and it made me LOL

It's no secret that as the show has progressed past the source material, the show's quality has gone down considerably. However I have come up with a fun mindset to continue this journey so I don't feel so terribly about the show's stumble toward it's conclusion. It is as follows:

Both GRRMs version and D&Ds version actually both exist in the same universe. GRRMs version is the written word as recorded by the maesters. It is actually what happened during the story. D & D's story is being told by some drunk uncle at some wedding sometime in the future in Westeros. He starts out sober but continues to get more drunk as the story progresses. By the end he slurs his words. He leaves out details. He makes drunk dick jokes. But he sloppily gets to the end of the story leaving his audience confused and unfulfilled by his drunken conclusion.

I'm trying to think of how they are going to piss everyone off with the ending... The Bowl seems like a good 'wtf, that's it?!" opportunity... both die after a lame fight that lasts a few seconds.

I'd doubt it... Jojen and Meera were just used as tools to get Bran familiar with the idea of greenseeing, and to use their Crannogmen ways to get him safely North of the Wall to the 3ER.

Howland Reed was mentioned like twice on the show, and neither time was accompanied with the same esteem or mystique that he got in the books as having been close to Ned.

This is why I won't sub HBO... lol

Nah. All the spinoffs are set far in the past apparently.

"The Long Night" was super short because we're getting a show about the actual Long Night, which GRRM is always writing in all-caps as THE LONG NIGHT whenever he blogs about HBO.

Excited for a show that they can make darker and more depressing than GoT was lol.

There will still be some characters talking about him and how important he is.... in every single spin off... dude will never show in any of them.

Yeah that was 8,000 years before GoT.

I'm sure this has already been mentioned on here, but it just occurred to me that Arya could kill Cersei by taking Jaime's and it would fulfill 2x prophecies... valonquar and shutting green eyes. Thoughts?

It would be dope, especially if Jaime entered the room just as Arya-as-Jaime is getting ready to kill her. Cersei sees a clone of Jaime, looks super confused, eyes open wide, then gets shanked. We've already seen that the Faceless Men can create copies of faces, even if that person isn't dead yet, so it's possible.

I just don't think they're gonna give Arya another "Headliner Kill." Maybe she helps the Hound kill the Mountain, but she's not gonna get another solo kill on that level.

Or maybe she goes for the kill, exactly what you said happens so Cersei has time to react, Mountain tries to kill Arya and the Hound steps in and that's how we get the Clegane bowl.

Seems like this is a given now, right? I mean wasn't that pretty heavy foreshadowing last week when he said something like, "I only have one thing to live for". Or only one thing left to do?
