So many stark (npi) Chekhov's gun problems.

Most concise and accurate criticism of the show I've seen yet. For those unfamiliar with the premise.

You could prob make a case that ultimately there were more Chekhov's gun moments in the story than those that actually panned out...

You KNOW GRRM is bringing Nymeria's wolfpack into the fray at some point... I'm betting Arya is pinned down during a battle against the undead, and the Ice Spiders are closing in and wreaking havoc... then BOOM. Nymeria and her 100 wolf bros show up and even the odds.

The eagles are coming!

You mentioned some much bigger ones in an earlier post. The Faceless Men? Rhllor v. The Great Other? 95% of the prophecies and visions from the books? Could spend hours recounting all the stuff Benioff and Weiss just swept under the rug in their rush to move onto Star Wars, but:

Ned and Robb relying on faithful ole Howland... who never shows his face at any point. Although some fans did suggest he was shown last night... idk.

Is there a list somewhere of who was at that meeting? I didn't recognize 3-4 of them although one was obviously from Dorne.

So the Iron Islands aren't independent despite being made so by Dany, nobody brings that up at the meeting, but Gendry Baratheon is Lord of Storm's End because Dany named him so and nobody has any issue. Then Bran immediately makes the North an independent nation and both the Iron Island's and Dorne are like "Yeah seems cool to us."

My favs are basically my fav shows... Wonder Years went perfectly with the mood of the show, only compliant was the Dad dying soon after when previous episodes talked about him living much longer/presently in the narrator's world.

Loved the Fresh Prince one too... wrapped it up nicely.

Cheers was a good one, "Sorry, we're closed."

I do remember thinking how bad the Seinfeld one was...

I enjoyed the last episode of Game of Thrones and it will be missed as a show. I think the only thing I’d change with the show would be to add 2 seasons lol. That’s not a small thing but I think I heard somewhere that HBO was begging GOT to have the show last ten seasons and I think at least 5-10 more episodes would have given enough treatment to the characters towards the end of the show. The most criticized part of the show on the whole has been the rush through things and I think that’s a fair assessment. I’d have loved to have seen more of the ending of most of the main characters. I’d like to have also seen time between battles in Episode 3 & Episode 5. Everything happened so quickly between Episode 3-6 that I just thought it was tough to get super attached to the drama that was unfolding. I just look back to Ned Stark having a knife held to his throat in Episode 7 of Season 1 and getting beheaded in Episode 10 as a good example of time passing for decisions to be made and suspense and angst being built towards an eventual fate that the audience was excited about. Many of these characters had their demise of deaths happen in one episode or even less time than that. It’s not that every episode should have one character reserved for that episode to die but rather the timing should be a little better in that everyone in the show practically dies in episode 5 & 6 in an extremely short period of time. All in all I think it’s an excellent show and I don’t think season 8 was a catastrophic failure like most people make it out to be but it did leave a little to be desired in the end.

Honestly with GRRM not finishing the books they could have added tons to the larger story... Gone deeper into the other kingdoms and such, gone into Arya's new world discovery, shown much more of Bran's history lessons, this really could have been the mid way point in terms of possible content.

Lost does not deserve to be listed with the rest of those. The finale was perfectly fine. The people that have issues with it are dummies that completely missed the whole point of the final season and just say "bUt tHeY wErE dEaD tHe WhOlE tImE!"

George wanted it to be 12 seasons just based on what he has planned for the rest of the books, so it easily could have gone much longer.

My reaction during that whole scene.

Something about that scene I was thinking about today was why on earth would Sansa have decided to declare the independence of the North right then? She couldn't have picked a worse moment.

If Sansa was really playing the game she would have simply toed the line and accepted the status quo. Knowing Bran was about to become king why wouldn't she just wait on the whole Northern independence thing until a later date? Makes no sense to bring it up during that council and risk pushback from the other kingdoms, or them turning around and deciding Bran shouldn't be king. Once Bran is "in office" the North could secede any time they wanted.

Why would she even want to with Bran in control of KL??? Cool "Queen of the North!" scene??

If it was on AMC then yes they would have milked the show for 20 seasons and spin offs

So who is not going to watch the spin offs because of how poorly you thought this season went? I think I know the answer. At the end of the day GoT was one of the most popular TV shows ever.

Will I watch them? Certainly.

Will I pay to watch them? Arrrrrr that'll be a no for me matey.

Also these spinoffs will be helmed by people other than D&D who will presumably give a shit about putting out a competent product.

The whole season just seemed like they all had somewhere to be and being on the show was an inconvenience... Sansa was like... hey guys lets rap this up I have to meet up with the X-Men at Winterfell.

Following up on Gattaca's post, it depends on who you blame here. I may watch the spinoffs, probably won't pay for them, but will definitely not be giving Benioff and Weiss another penny if I can avoid it.

Frankly the spinoffs won't have two decades of discussion surrounding them. I will much easier be able to enjoy them for what they are, rather than what they are bastardizing.
