Lynch will be starting by midseason.
The kid couldn't be blocked.
Just picked one. Guys. KLM and EJ are for real. As is Flemming, but that's another story. I am telling you. They are HUGE, and fast, and can play fast. A good example of the metric, because a lot of people on this site have given up on EJ, was Kelly's comment today. To paraphrase: EJ did no lower body weight training the season before Kelly arrived, and he spent his share of time flopping around and on his back during that season. This season, he has had two years of Longo. Expect far different results. Same with KLM. They both are 300 lbs. I stood next to them once each of the last two years. NO comparison.
Aaron Lynch, will be a great player. I have not seen him entirely overcome his urge to run around blocks. Kelly said it today, he is being evaluated on his ability to play disciplined defense. He won't play till he does. And he shouldn't. He will learn, it is just a matter of time.
Of the limited film today. Niix can't just dig in. He can move you like a rag doll. I mean I think there was two times in the drill (Rodeo?) and once prior that he just manhandled and drove the guy across from him back, and once it was Cave. THAT IS SOMETHING!
Guys from what Kelly has let slip, position coaches have said and what has been reported we could have 5 or 6 "national players" on defense this year! (Kelly uses that term for recognition. I have heard: Flemming, T'eo, KLM, EJ, Nix, Gray, Blanton, and Smith.)
On offense I didn't hear anyone say anything about the entire offensive line looking GREAT; or the fact that Tate Nichols played a bad@$$ Left Tackle!
(Troy Niklas is listed as a Tight end on the roster?)
