I am thinking about leaving work early and driving up to Columbus but the traffic is so bad anytime between 4 and 6 that I probably can't because I'd have to leave too early.

It is worth it. I was at USA-CR for the Copa this summer and that was a ridiculous environment. It will be twice as crazy for this one.

Pulisic alone may make me finally start cheering for the US. Up to this point, I've been indifferent to them. MAKE AMERICA GREAT(for the first time) CHRISTIAN.

I've seen some fringe American Outlaws members want to do a "Build That Wall" chant. They are condemning it as racist. While I think it is distasteful and wouldn't do it myself, I don't see it as racist. Funny, but given the tension something that shouldn't be joked about. What say you?

Probably one of the worst ideas possible at this point. And it would totally come off as racist IMO ( as the political climate currrntly is)

Did you not see number 10 on the field tonight (no condescension meant in this post)? CAM of the future, but can also play outside. He is just barely 18 years old. In addition to that, we have 19 year old Lynden Gooch who has been playing a decent amount for Sunderland in the EPL. Pretty sure he has started 5 games and came off the bench in 3. Gedion Zelalem is a stud but he is stuck at Arsenal so too much depth for him. He will get a loan to a low level EPL side in January. There is Emerson Hyndman at Bournemouth who is just 21, but he has been injured much of the year. Then there is Kellyn Acosta who has played LB for us but he is more of a CDM. Perry Kitchen will start getting more call ups I think, but he plays same role as Jermaine Jones. One name to remember is Gyboli Aribi. No senior appearances yet. He plays in League One in England and is the best player on his team at 21. He has been linked with moves to high level Championship teams and low level EPL teams.

Point is, the cupboard certainly isn't dry. The US was the much better team in the second half. Jurgen going 3-5-2 in the first half is why they lost. If they came out in the 4-4-2 I genuinely believe the US would have won.

People can blame Bradley for the giveaway on the first goal, but his real problem was shooting instead of laying it off to a wide open Bobby Wood.

Regardless if Dempsey ever gets healthy again, our forwards throughout this cycle should always be Altidore and Wood. I thought they were excellent together.

I wanna see this formation against Costa Rica:

I loved Johnson in the midfield, but the best combinations we have seen the US do this year in the friendlies last month and against Trinidad and Tobago when Pulisic and Johnson were on the same side. The overlap was deadly and they had great chemistry.

I like the starting XI. If I had my druthers, I'd keep Deandre as a RB and throw either Sacha or Alejandro in the Mid. I like my football when my Left and Right backs are bombing forward. Also, I am a Geoff Cameron fan.

Thanks for the response, and yes, Pulisic is a freaking beast. I was looking for someone that can give Bradley and Jones some competition in the middle. I'll keep an eye on those guys.

I think Bradley's problem is Klinsmann's tactics. When you play Bradley deeper, he does very well and can pick out Pirloesque passes. When you put him in an attacking role, he struggles because that's not his natural role. He just doesn't fit in a Klinsmann 4-4-2 really. I think his ideal role is as a CDM with Jones or someone next to him to provide cover.

This. He's proven his keep in other systems... but yeah, once he puts on the USA Jersey under Klin he's simply not the same player.

The thing about Bradley, though, is that his worst mistakes and most costly errors don't seem to have anything to do with the "system," and more to do with just terrible decision making.

His decision to try and take a shot, rather than hit a light touch to Wood, was disastrous. Just monumentally bad.

And then his most infuriating giveaways (and most frequent) are simply plays where he makes boneheaded decisions. Whether it's a bad pass with a defender right in the lane, or a turnover where he isn't aware/hustling, it's just not clean play.

Does a different system eliminate those mental errors? From a guy that hasn't been into soccer for all that long, it seems like Bradley's unforced errors are far too common. Almost every USMNT match, I feel like I'm yelling at Bradley for something completely inexcusable.

It can, think of a TE who's most talented in the passing game being in a system where he's simply used as an extra blocker all the time... it can lead to a fish out of water scenario...
