Uhh, that's simply real talk.

Uhh, that's simply real talk.
I'm not stating some obscure league is better because it's less followed or because it think it's cool to be 'hip and different or contrary'... Just like a guy who always drank Pabst isn't a hipster because of a bunch of pretentious douchebags (who just about to a man watch the EPL for the very reasons stated above) stole his fvking beer of choice... I'm saying an EPL fan that suggests Laver is some podunk team has serious tunnel vision and that they are better, IMO, than a lot of teams in England... Calling that hipster is just a lazy distraction,... Anyway back to soccer talk.
but there's no need to imply that we're pretentious douchebags just because we like it.
I didn't say anyone here was.... I said people who steal people's beer of choice and taint it forever were....![]()
Brooks Lennon is having a great time for Liverpool U23s recently. He just scored in his 4th straight home game. I would love to see him get a spot on the USMNT at some point though I don't think he has ever been looked at seriously by Klinsman ( at least not reported by the media anyway)
He's young and Klin already has a number of fairly young attackers, Jurgen also clearly has a preference for players who play in Germany ( no, I'm not saying that's a good thing, at all, lol)... I'd still expect him to get a chance later down the road.
Agree. I think the premier league is good for developing defensive talent and the Bundesliga is good for attacking players.
Dortmund with a big win today, starting to get healthy slowly....
What the hell happened to NYC? Damn.
Goalkeepers: Brad Guzan (Middlesbrough), Ethan Horvath (Molde), Tim Howard (Colorado Rapids), William Yarbrough (Leon)
Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting KC), Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), John Brooks (Hertha Berlin), Cameron Carter-Vickers (Tottenham), Timmy Chandler (Eintracht Frankfurt), Omar Gonzalez (Pachuca), Fabian Johnson (Borussia Monchengladbach), Michael Orozco (Club Tijuana), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle)
Midfielders: Alejandro Bedoya (Philadelphia Union), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Lynden Gooch (Sunderland), Julian Green (Bayern Munich), Jermaine Jones (Colorado Rapids), Sacha Kljestan (New York Red Bulls), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund), Caleb Stanko (FC Vaduz), Graham Zusi (Sporting Kansas City)
Forwards: Jozy Altidore (Toronto FC), Aron Johannsson (Werder Bremen), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders), Bobby Wood (Hamburger SV).
Gio, Altidore, and Bradley are just in an unreal form and NYC had to go all out attacking from the beginning already down 2 on aggregate. They just couldn't get anything going. Lampard is definitely gone, Mix is probably gone, and Pirlo might be gone. NYC will be signing at least 1 new DP in the off season and maybe another. They also paid Mix a huge salary to just train (he never even made the bench the last half of the season) so with that $750k freed up I see them signing a high level for MLS center back.
My guess on one of the DPs is Nasri. No idea who else they'd consider.
Also, on the note of Altidore and Bradley's form, let us hope it carries into Dos a Cero on Friday.
Nasri is playing very well for Sevilla, I'd say there's a better chance of him returning to Man City after his loan spell this year than going to MLS. Nasri could go to MLS eventually, but I don't think it will be next year. Plus, I read something yesterday that claimed Nasri wanted to go to Sevilla so he could learn to love soccer again before coming back to city.
But yeah, NYCFC needs to figure out its defense, and quickly
Rumors that Celtic may be looking to add Gerrard later down the road.... ugh, I know he's been 'better' since he took on a more attacking role but he's still not that great and was at one time a total liability for LAG imo.. just totally past it. Anyway I guess one could say a change of scenery and all that but I don't know.
USMNT roster released yesterday. Tim Howard will be starting. I have to think we go with Wood and Altidore up front against Mexico. Don't know who is gonna pair with Brooks at CB though.

Wood screwed up by getting a 3 game ban last week, meaning he won't have played for quite some time before this game. And he wasn't exactly in scintillating form to begin with - 2 goals on the season (albeit on an AWFUL squad).
Nasri would be stupid to leave Sevilla IMHO. He’s playing in the Champions League where they are a lock to advance to the knockout round, he’s also in the top 4 in La Liga and jusssst got ousted by Barca yesterday, he’s playing on a team where he starts every game and plays a prominent role in their success, and he’s playing in a great city. Unless Pep pretty much guarantees him a starting spot (doubtful considering who they have, who they will undoubtedly tries to sign, and his troubles in the past with discipline), I would leave Sevilla for MC, personally.
Sounds like what they said last year in the off-season as well. They were historically bad last year defensively and mildly better this season, but yeah, they need to shore that up. They score goals for fun at times, but man, there are a sieve far too often.
Where is Lampard expected to go???
