ND23,... Schedule | LA Galaxy

August 23rd, it's yo ass.

;)

Tomorrow will be a big tell if NYC is going to turn it around or not. They have the talent, but not the depth. Kreis has made awful choices all season and has like 4 or 5 players he constantly starts from his days with RSL. They all suck and have no right to play. He started Motherfucking Ned Grabavoy over Mix Diskerud two games ago. That is all you need to know.

They play DC United tomorrow. If they right the ship there, August 23rd (MY 22nd birthday by the way) will be a very interesting game. If the slide continues, LA will roll.

I am talking currently though. I can honestly not name one world class Northern Irish player. Scottish, I can think of maybe one or two in Darren Fletcher and Charlie Adam, but even then, they would be fringe players. But yeah, would definitely improve the final product just due to sheer numbers.

Paddy McNair and Jonny Evans? Not sure if they count as world-class but they are the only ones I can think of.

Naismith is Scottish. I have always been a fan. He and Charlie Adam might have a shot at getting into the England side.

I'd love to see the UK field one team in international competition. England are perennial underachievers so it certainly can't hurt.

Right now Scotland is at an almost all time low point... but they have young talents like Gauld, Bannan and Stevens that may get looks... and with England having struggled so much with finding quality strikers and finishers to compliment Rooney this past generation I would guess Naismith, Miller and Fletcher would all have gotten a look, of course this would have been 5 years ago or more but yeah... Alan Hutton would have been on the team too at his peak... To my point, if they joined up in the 70's and 80's Argentina and Germany are probably both short a World Cup title now.

with Ireland I don't know a single NI player period. I'm thinking more Ireland, which would prob not be a part of this but for the sake of the fun of it.....

and...

Honestly, I think English soccer is among, if not THE, most over rated and over hyped team(s) in all of sports... a large amount of their players are too... just my opinion. So to think other British teams' players wouldn't crack their first team doesn't fly with me. Bale alone would vastly improve the team. All just my opinion of course.

Scotland on track to qualify for the Euro's. As are Wales and Northern Ireland. The argument for one team representing the UK is probably at its weakest now..

A joint UK team I doubt will happen in my lifetime, but to say that it is at its weakest point because teams may qualify for an expanded Euro field and teams like Northern Ireland were placed into absolute jokes of a group (the best team is Romania, come on) I don't think is fair. Fact is, only 1 has even qualified for a WC in the past 25 years.

I would be curious to see this discussion if England were to miss a World Cup. I would be oh so happy, and their fans would be in complete meltdown...

Hey, who is Dortmund's best player right now? Bayern might have an open spot on the end of their bench.

ACamp, your boy Zardes is headed to Genk in the Belgium league for $3.5 million. Not official yet but it looks like they are agreeing on personal terms. Probably a good move for both sides. He seemed to level off with the Galaxy and they will get a good amount of allocation money, while Zardes will definitely be in a more tactical league (MLS better overall) and it should help him with the USMNT.

Hmmm, interesting, he's def leaving a nice lil comfort zone as he was born and raised a stones throw from SH Center... He's def needing a change tho, hope he does well, love Zardes, seems like a good kid

Nothing official yet but Genk have confirmed they made the bid for him and it was accepted. Whether he is willing to leave is to be seen.

So I started a Togga BPL fantasy league. We had our draft last night. (I got Hazard with the first pick ... pumped)

Anyone ever done one of these? I am normally a complete fantasy hater, haven't been in any league in any sport in years, but I am kind of excited about this.

Bayern fans, does Jérôme Boateng always play central D... I seem to remember him playing more midfield or at least coming up a lot in past games. Do they ever move him up in terms of positioning or does he just like to come up at times ala Mats Hummels??

Likes to come up. Also, Bayern always retains so much possession in the attacking third it gives him chances to go forward.

btw, notredomer, who starts for City this weekend? Aguero, or Bony? Kolarov, or Clichy? Not sure who's fit and who isn't.
