btw, notredomer, who starts for City this weekend? Aguero, or Bony? Kolarov, or Clichy? Not sure who's fit and who isn't.

No idea. I prefer Clichy to Kolarov but he is so dangerous going forward and for his freekicks. We need Aguero to start. Bony is good but Aguero is top 5 in world

Top 5 at what? Honest question. Being a midget who scores maybe half as much as Messi and gets hurt way more often?

Top 5 striker/forward in the world. Ronaldo is more of a LW but I'll put him in this category. Messi. Ibrahimovic. Suarez. Aguero. When Aguero is healthy I would take him over Suarez. He does things on the ball that are incredible, but it's his off the ball movement that is his best trait besides his finishing. He does it against all forms of competition too, not just the bottom feeders. For example: UCL hattrick against Bayern this past year.
28 goals in 33 league games is nothing to look down upon either this past year.

Aston Villa just signed Adama Traoré. Unbeliavable that Barcelona just let him go like that, he was his best "prospect".

Is there an IE fantasy premier league group? Just in case..

Dortmund off and flying.... Remember they had that crazy start last year and never had a chance but they were actually the favorites to win the league this time last year... It could be interesting if they start off hot.

Ugh they were favorites to beat Bayern last year? How?

Among the favorites, or picked by many may be more accurate, but yes.... They were picked by many at the start of the season last year yes. Because they're a really good team maybe? Part of the feelings may have been the expectation that it's really hard to win a great league three years running, idk, and BVB were the obvious second choice?? I just remember reading and hearing a ton of random previews and expert predictions that had Dortmund picked to win the league this time last year. Their terrible season was one of the biggest sports stories on the entire planet for a reason.

Anyway, for this season, I'm ecstatic over today's game... Not gonna lie. Overall? I certainly don't expect it, but I feel Dortmund actually have a realistic outside chance at the league, and I'd be stunned if they finish outside of Champions a League again, they're far too good for that.

It will probably be kolarov because I think clichy is hurt still. And the only way aguero isn't in is if pelligrini doesn't think he has match fitness. And I agree in terms of forwards in the world it goes :
1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Suarez
4. Aguero
5. Zlatan

  4. Zlatan
  5. Zlatan

Long form article on Olympique Marseille and their unique place in European football:

Only in Marseille: where ultras rule and temptation is never far away | Philippe Auclair | Football | The Guardian

At any other stadium in the world, is there a stand named after a fan? Take a seat in the virage Nord of Stade Vélodrome in Marseille and you’ll find yourself in the Tribune Patrice de Péretti. There you’ll be surrounded by the 3,000 members of Marseille’s most raucous, intimidating Ultras: MTP, for Marseille Trop Puissant (“Marseille, all powerful”). De Péretti, or Depé, was their founder, their talisman, their bare-chested hero. Olympique de Marseille’s club scarf loosely knotted around his neck, megaphone in hand, exploding flares punctuating his exhortations to the crowd, he stood as a reminder of his club’s uniqueness in the usually placid landscape of French football – mad, bad, and sometimes dangerous.

I wouldn't put Silva in that class... just me.

Dude, Silva has been RIDICULOUS through the 1st two games. Best player in the EPL so far. With Sterling and Navas flying down the wings, he has more space to operate and has been killing teams so far. And he does the same wizardry for Spain as well. He pulls the strings among the best midfielders in the world.

He was great last year as well...when he was healthy, Man City's problems were more on Yaya and Navas and Kompany, etc.

I didn't say the guy was bad, he's a world class player, just that he's not in Hazard or Aguero's class... to me, they are both undoubtedly top ten in the world players... Silva is not.

That's a topic,... who is your top ten... for me the top seven or so are in stone...

Hazard
Messi
Ronaldo
Suarez
Neuer
Robben
Aguero

the last three is where the debate begins imo...

Di Maria
Reus
Iniesta
Gotze
Zlatan
Muller
Neymar
Bale
Van Persie
Rodriguez
Lahm

maybe I'm forgetting some... but that's off the top of my head...

Silva has been phenomenal this year and that comes from someone who hasn't always been a huge fan of him at City. If he isn't top 10 in the world, he is at least top 15. He is definitely better than Gotze right now, though Gotze obviously has the age advantage.

City is a machine this year BTW. If they can stay healthy and maybe make one more good signing that will provide depth, they have a serious chance to make noise in the UCL.
