I couldn't disagree more. Croatia's midfield can compete with the French midfield. England's Midfield was their weakness.

I understand that Croatia's midfield was very strong in the 2nd half and overwhelmed England's midfield, but I think the unsung hero of the match was Vida. That guy was strong all game long. The fact that he won every 1 v 1 battle with Sterling was mighty impressive.

So I’ll say it, this England team accomplished one thing... beating Sweden... that’s. It. Columbia would have been a win had James played but I doubt they would have won had he have. For me they are still the same ole overhyped, overrated England who just got a number of fortunate matchups. The England that lost to Iceland is still the reality and expect that to prove true over the next Euros and into 2022... especially considering the English media will put their usual insane expectations and weight on the team moving forward.

I mean obviously England got favorable matchups and are not currently one of the 4 best teams in the world, but they are super, super young and talented and should be even better in 2022. Take out Henderson for a more mature Loftus-Cheek, and Lingard out for Phil Foden (an Iniesta type who I genuinely believe will be one of England's most important players in 4 years time), and you're looking at something potentially very special.

The starting XI vs Croatia was: Pickford, Young, Maguire, Stones, Walker, Trippier, Hendo, Dele, Sterling, Lingard and Kane.

2022 could be: Pickford, Rose, Maguire, Stones, Walker, Trippier, RLC, Dele, Sterling, Foden, and Kane. Not bad at all.

I was at FC Cincy’s match against the Tampa Bay Rowdies tonight. Good night for soccer.

I realized tonight that I keep developing new appreciations for the game. Not only is soccer awesome, but being invested in a team REALLY helps the football offseason move faster.

Four years ago, this was dead space where I struggled to care about Reds baseball. Now, I can watch my soccer team play once or twice per week, rather than feeling miserable and empty as I wait for ND football.

I sat by a foreign family at Mass yesterday. I think they were french based on their dress and appearance. Didn't show up until halfway through. Perhaps that is what we can expect again this morning.
