I got engaged at a local bar. Don't spend too much money on a ring...both my wife and I don't wear ours anymore.

Recently married here (wow I’ve been on IE forever). Got engaged in Rome, spent probably 2x a month salary on the ring, with the anticipation of a promotion (which thankfully happened) a few months later to bring that number down further.

You're even younger than me if I remember correctly. Congrats to you. We are aging quickly. ha

Congrats!!! I popped the question 5 years ago as the sun was going down at the light house in st joes Michigan. Now we have two kids, life moves fast. Happy for you pal

Also I spent 1200 dollars on my wife’s ring. She didn’t give a shit about the price. She’s in it for the long haul……my pension lol

Some of you make me feel old lol. I have been married for almost 16 years.
Hahaha

I was married for almost that long, been divorced for that long and was almost twice that old before I got married.

Not that's old.

...well until #1 comes in here telling us how young he is compared to OMM.

I got engaged at Fenway about 4 years ago. They were kind enough to display it on the Jumbotron. Good thing she said yes because that would have been quite embarrassing.

I believe my wife just straight up told me we were getting married. Being the sigma male that masquerades as an alpha, I said "whatever works for you"
Friend of mine secretly told me that he made a deal with his wife when they got married. He told her "I'm fine with you being in charge as long as you act like I'm in charge when we are out in public". He said she's not kept up with her end of the bargain.

Same guy told me he had some marriage advice for me when I was about to get married. He said you need to do what I do. Every morning when I wake up, I snuggle close up to my wife, I give her a big hug, stroke her hair, kiss her lips and whisper in her ear "I'm sorry for whatever I'm going to do today that will end up pissing you off".

You might want to take his advice with a grain of salt.

I believe this tact always ends up the same as telling your wife to “relax”

The wife and I are watching TV when she asked me a question. It was such an innocuous question, I don't remember what it was, but I remember the response I got when I replied, "Yes Mam". lol
