Diaco to Wisconsin??!!! Just kidding.

We need to expect to lose coordinators unless they have their sights set on something particular (like Iowa, maybe).

Wisconsin should hire Chryst.

Pitt will need their 8th coach since 2010. THAT IS INSANE.

Good news. Not out of the woods yet, though.

However....weird hire by BC, no?

I think the problem that most sane fans would have is not Bob Diaco leaving for a HC gig, it's him leaving before the national title game.

I fully expect to lose him in the near future and I have all the faith in the world of Brian Kelly replacing him with someone who is just as good, if not better at the job, its just for the here and now it would not exactly be helpful.

@MileHighPharmer:
Paul Chryst to Wisconsin, Kirk Ferentz to Pitt and Bob Diaco to Iowa. connect the dots

Posted in the other thread, but a plausible, worst case scenario for ND fans.

I doubt Wisky goes there, honestly he may interview, the way BC went down tells me he's building experience and gaining leverage, ... He's not going anywhere except to Miami, then the White House

No idea why Ferentz would go from Iowa to Pitt however I would not be surprised to see him leave for the NFL.

Ferentz has something like a 20 million dollar buy-out. He is an unmovable object.

Why would Pitt hire a coach that led his team to a 4-8 season, where they lost their last 6 games? Doesn't make sense to me...

Yeah, I simply don't see him going anywhere; at least not yet. There's no way any other school, particularly Pitt, would freely choose to pay him anything close to what he's making now.

If Iowa has a couple more really disappointing seasons, some desperate Hawkeye boosters might pony up the cash to buy him out, but until then, I think Ferentz is pretty much untouchable.

Louisville may come open soon. Tennessee is still open but Strong is a big rumor now.

great guy...great coach. My hope is that he remains by choice, and continues to grow under BK's wing.

He seriously had a 13 game losing streak?

I agree this is more likely. His name has been kicked around during past couple of Chiefs coaching searches. However, a big part of this is his relationship to Pioli who should be swiftly fired at the conclusion of this season.

The Cal job is for suckers. They have to recruit head to head with USC, Stanford (who has them beat on their academic strengths as well as football), a surging UCLA, Tosh Lupoi and Washington, and Oregon who will be the cool kids on the block even after Chip Kelly leaves.

The team was mired in awfulness until Tedford. Mediocrity will be a tall task there and they're not likely to thank you for it.

$20M is excessive but that BIG10 revenue makes a lot of things possible.

I think Tennessee should free Al Golden, and Miami should hire Petrino in his place.
