Denbrock called MF before Parker moved on? This is a critical detail.
He didn't say when he called. Just that he did. Two things make me seriously wonder if timing was before:
1.) The whole people hoping Parker would move on thing (why else would you want your OC to move on?)
2.) The composition of the offensive staff (IE, Denbrock's old Cincinnati staff)

We should send a small part of our endowment to Troy.
Its a lovely campus. When I worked for DoD my roommate was an E-4 who got his degree online there. We drove up for his graduation. It was a very fun weekend.

Yea, this is definitely part of the theory. Prister on a recent episode indicated Denbrock called Freeman. After Parker left Brice said he had heard that people in the Gug were "hoping he was going to get another job". Best guess is it was move on or possibly be demoted and remain on staff.
I was also hoping that.

I’ve learned over the years that coaches make weird career choices too so if it does happen, wouldn’t be the first odd move. That said, it really doesn’t make much sense unless OSU is a secret dream job of his. Him jumping to the NFL as RB coach makes more sense.

I've kind of been expecting him to go back to the pros this off-season.
Could be wrong but thought I remember reading when he came to ND that the reason he left Kansas City for IU (clearly a step down in the coaching world) was because he ultimately wants to be a head coach, had watched Eric Bienemy be passed over so many times and decided that college was his best shot at running a team.

Now, things change, and probably there were other factors (three high school aged sons at the time maybe). But if that's true I'm not sure why he'd go back to the NFL for the same job he had before. He also doesn't seem to shy from the recruiting and leading young men parts of being a college coach the way that some do.

So I've always figured if/when he leaves it would be for a P5 OC job or a G5 (or major FCS?) head coaching opportunity. Given how few RB coaches seem to land coordinator gigs I'd actually bet more on the latter.

Cincinnati Bearcats RB coaches when Freeman was there:

Gino
Doug Phillips, now HC at Youngstown State
Dan Enos, recently fired Arkansas OC and currently not employed.

Saving everyone the suspense and narrowing down the next "buddy hire."

Nd has a better backfield, which he built, a brighter future, and a vastly better head coach to work with. Not sure I see the appeal for that move.
WE ARE SUPERIOR IN NUMBERS!!! Taking CFB by storm in '24!!!

Wasn't the Arkansas running game under him actually pretty good? Or am I just imagining everything lol

I'm not going to sweat RB coach. I think ND can end up getting a good one again whenever Deeland leaves and if it ends up being soon to Ohio State, that's fine. ND has already shown they're willing to pay to get a former employee back, so if it is Alford that replaces him it's about an even swap in terms of quality. Two G5 up comers I've heard good things about are Patrick Cobbs at North Texas and Derrick Sherman, who was Tulane RB coach in 2022 and went back to WR at Tulane but is now Houston WR coach. Sherman is also a Cincinnati native who played at Purdue for two years.

Happy we are giving him the AHC title and a little bigger bag. Keep this staff together for as long as possible.

Many think oneof the commits isn't up to the caliber he's been recruiting.
McCullough is playing his “I’ll trust his judgement” card with Anderson. I don’t get that take *at all*.

What additional responsibilities does an associate head coach have? I always thought these type of titles were just in name only to give them more money

Recruiting, travel, camps, equipment, etc. You name it. Takes certain things off of the head coach's plate that the other assistants would not have delegated to them. Consigliare type stuff.

Maybe I'm just not up to snuff on the 2025 class just yet, but what are the concerns with Anderson? He's ranked #204 overall on Rivals. Is there a concern that's going to change considerably?

RB is one where you take numbers, then try to process down the line if it works out.

Possibly related: people on the internet are idiots

One is not good, other is solid but probably the 2 least talented commits he’s landed

Great to lock him in, now go get a better 25 RB
Lion didn't have to wait more than 12 hours for your "possibly related" to come to fruition.
