I disagree on this. LSU just fired Bo Pelini after one year. LSU is in deep sexual misconduct doo doo. ND just sent it's last DC to a P5 head coaching job. LSU managed that with Dave Aranda, but he was lined up for a head coaching gig already.


In terms of the better job, personally, I'd rather try to do it at ND.


If he picks LSU, I think it's just a pure $$ thing.

I say we're cheap. In the context of program value vs spend you should too. ND is a top 5 team in terms of FB program value. ND is 913M and is ranked 5th. We're outspent by all the other contenders, many of whom are worth less. LSU is 9th, TAMU is 12th, and both are backing up trucks.

That's not even factoring in endowments, etc... Bottom line, spend should not even be a question. It's the most unnecessary self imposed barrier to success for us.

Also that he got a large NFL offer so money wise has seen it dangled before. The post made me think he may ultimately decide to stay more than what was previously relayed, which I guess is better than LSU, even if it’s not ultimately ND.

I will agree on support staff. ND is wayyyy behind there. But from those who have a detailed understanding, I was under the impression they offered Elko a significant sum. So play this out....what amount for a DC is cheap? Is 1.5m cheap? 2m? 2.5m?

Any amount that doesn't match or better a program with less value is cheap IMO. We should be a hammer in this area, not the nail. Given all the other self imposed limitations we have, money should be an area that we over compensate and lead in.

You have glorious spring weather from late Feb through April, maybe a week in May. If you don't mind sweating or the heat you're good May-September.
