He’s spending a lot of time focused on who he lost to, let’s talk about wins. By his logic Army should be ahead of IU!

Put your margin of victory on a banner cause that’s the only thing you guys will be able to take away from this season.

Aren’t all IU fans really just IU basketball fans and ND football fans?
Uhh…as an Indiana native and ND alum, that’s very much a two way street. I remember Fisher being packed with guys huddles around the TV watching for and pulling for the Hoosiers in March

Only Airbnb I could get is 4 miles away. How brutal will it be to get an uber after the game?
Very very very tough. Getting there is easy, getting home will be a nightmare. Go stash a car on Hill or St Louis to get out...

I'll leave it at this. I like having a coach that is humble and embraces choosing hard. I have little appetite for coaches that are boastful, cocky and downright brash. It's not me and not who I was raised to be. It makes me want to kick the living piss out of those who I described. I hope IU is ready for the most physical game they have had all year.

I don’t blame Cignetti talking like he does. He’s trying to instill a belief and attitude that is a 180 from what it’s been for ages.

In beating Purdue I think he left his starters in for close to the entire game. He also ran a fake punt when the outcome had already been decided.

Same here…..ND has always been my favorite team by a large margin but still cheered for Purdue, Indiana, Butler, ISU (and DePaul) as long as they weren’t playing against ND.

This is going to be a tough game. Indiana is pretty freaking good against the run, and they have guys on the DL that grade high each week on PFF.

We have to get to Rourke or he might be able to sit back and pick his shots.
He does seem to have slowed down once he came back from injury, so that might be a thing.

It’s the inorganic nature of him that makes it come across as cringy and embarrassing. It has the appearance of a guy trying to “re-invent” himself.

Cignetti is trying to be some macho/alpha male type coach.

The only problem is Cignetti is a smarmy little know it all speaking from a pre-rehearsed script he clearly spent all day coming up with in his mind.

It’s forced and nobody takes a 63 year old man that looks like an accountant as a certified bad ass.

He doesn’t understand someone like Dan Campbell, who is a certified badass and alpha male type coach, speaks to people respectfully, from the heart, and conveys strength through standing on business and laying down for his team to absorb every arrow slung at them. It’s not about him, it’s about them.

He is a great coach that knows the game, and it might be bluster he’s trying to run off on his team, so there’s that. It will also create some tense handshakes with other B1G coaches, which is always fun.

I've gotta believe Indiana fans are not happy with the draw, despite what their outer Cignetti says. They are going to get run off the field.

I don't really get this confidence. I think Indiana will be a tough opponent.

1) this is their superbowl magnified by 100. It's the biggest game in the history of their program, by a mile, and it's against the in-state program that historically outshines them. Think Cincinnati having their best team ever and catching Ohio State.

2) their offense is legitimate, and Notre Dame won't just roll out of bed and hold them to <20 points. It will need to be earned, and the USC defensive performance was... not great. Yes, Indiana's offense struggled against Michigan and Ohio State.

3) their defense is better than people think because the offense is so good. But their defense is pretty solid and Notre Dame's offense is hot and cold. This team is still quarterbacked by Leonard Riley. He is more than capable of shitting the bed. The ND run game is great, on paper, but isn't the "imposed your will" sorta game that suggests they can run on anyone.

I think this should be an ND -5.5 line and this could easily be a dogfight in South Bend.

Take ND and the over. Indiana won't stop the rushing attack and ND will force Rourke to throw more than they'd like. This will lead to 2nd half turnovers a la USC. They may keep it close in the first half, but ND will keep punishing them at the LOS until they break in the 2nd half.

Indiana's O-line really struggled against Michigan & Ohio State. I expect more of the same against ND. Nothing is guaranteed but I feel good about our chances to line up and bully them.

Am I crazy or does Indiana have the #1 rushing defense in the country at just 70 yards per game?

Okay, but they've played two teams with winning records. (We've played seven.) We probably have the best O line they've played.
