does cubs ownership realize that wrigley and the "wrigley experience" is as much as a draw as the team itself?
baseball is a city game. ballparks need to be in the cities not the burbs.

It will/better not happen. Wrigley is too historic. Must be a slow day in yahoosports, I hope.
I would think the City would do what ever they could to keep them and the ball park there.
Everyone has a price. If Ricketts can make more money in the burbs, they are gone.
That is the thing, he can't. Wrigley will sell out regardless of how bad the team is...more of a party, less of a ball game atmosphere. Put this horrible franchise in US Cellular and the seats would be empty.
No they won't move. I'm a lifelong Cubs fan and would root for them no matter where they played. They could move to Gary and I'd still root for them and go to games (when I'm back in IN). That said, there aren't a lot of people who share my opinion. There are a lot of Cubs "fans" who own a hat and show up to Wrigley to get wasted and could care less if the Cubs win or lose. It's unfortunate, but that's the case and it brings in money. I like the proposals the Ricketts family have come up with to update Wrigley. I love Wrigley, but nothing good has ever happened to the Cubs there. Nothing. If they want to blow that f'ing place up and build a new stadium I'd still be a Cubs fan.
