president's message to the american people is there is a very low instance of death, we are going to come through this stronger than ever before, if you do get this it is highly unlikely (it is much smaller than originally thought) that you will die.

Arizona is likely to follow suit with a similar lockdown this weekend.

president mentioned currently no plans to "lock-down"

however, i have noticed when rumors of these types of things are said to be coming from president they never have and have always come from the state/governor level. so there has to be some coordination here.

This is a comical post. Everyone is being fed lies... but you? Random mid-level employee at insurance company knows the real truth, but everyone else is a pawn of the CDC. That's a flat-earther argument right there.

Are you dense? Did you not read he has a surgeon friend? That's right, a friend who does surgery! #InKoonItrust

I'm watching and that's taken out of context. He was asked a gotcha question and he dodged it -- said he needs to look into the issue.

I live 2 miles from NJ's first drive thru testing area and just drove by. Very creepy. Felt like the beginning of 28 Days later.

News from the Old People communities here:

My "village" (The Fountains) has stopped all visitors except health and essentials. There is no dining room service anymore --- people make out choices from menus and food is delivered room by room. No activities. Any get-together must have less than ten persons. Catholic Mass was just canceled.

Our neighbor community (Friendship Village) has done all of that plus things like isolating residents to only their own floors. Also they do not allow the USPS to distribute mail into resident boxes, but dump it at front desk and employees sort and deliver to rooms (probably illegal by the letter of the law --- no pun intended.)

My personal life is OK, since I'm in the less restricted village. I can still walk around, go outside and sit by the pond and watch the geese, converse a bit with friends, pick up my mail and post it, but it still has much to be wished for.

Food is still very good --- but no food by fast-food or Grub-Hub delivery. i brought a lot of things with me, so I'm not as deprived as others, and I am resuscitating my old moribund blog to keep me active --- already several hundred folks out there in the world have dropped in to read, and a few have given me nice comments, which helps in these times.

So Fortress Fountains Rises, but life is still pretty good in what matters.

Update from a real world situation. My cousin in NYC just text me saying that she is pretty sure her 2 oldest boys, age 10 and 8, have COVID-19. They have fevers and coughs. No shortness of breath though. Doctors instructed to just stay home and self quarantine. He sent over a prescription, she didnt say of what. Doctor also said they won't test them for confirmation.

This last September, I just moved my family from Chicago, back home to Granger. We had been in the city for the last 6 years. Really difficult decisions to leave the city and move home. Well, I just had my second baby in January. He is 8 weeks old as of yesterday and his shots are scheduled for next week. I thank GOD everyday since this started that I made the decision to move and not get stuck in the city with this virus and a newborn.

Evidently even when people are "pretty sure" that they have it, they usually don't.

The interesting part is that in Indiana, only 15% of the time does the test come back positive. I have no idea how that percentage compares to the rest of the US.

I bet a lot of folks would happily trade places with you lol. Hang in there. Can you PM me the link to your blog. I've switched laptops and don't think I have the address anymore.

My best friend's wife is some type of director at an assisted living place in Indy. They have went through various stages of "lock down", but they are prepping to keep their employees on site 24/7 in apartments. Their daughter who is home from HS, and son who is home college, have been invited to come be locked down (and to work) with mom in an apartment on site. Only people in and out will be essential supply delivery and health related.

My buddy hopes this happens. Both for their safety and many other reasons. His wife will make what translates to 1.5 pay for 16 hours a day (so basically 3x salary), security, meals, etc.. The kids will be paid 1.5 whatever hourly as well. My buddy said he's going to go Nick Cage Leaving Las Vegas liquor shopping if that happens, and invited me to come stay lol..

I havent received today's updates from the system i work at but as of yesterday:

1 confirmed case who has since discharged (middle aged adult)
2 newly confirmed cases (1 was a young adult who recently had traveled outside country, the other an elderly individual with preexisting conditions)
26 negative tests
~70 tests were waiting results

I tried to find similar stats on SKO yesterday and couldn't. While they are way ahead on testing, and supposed to be "model" for it, they've tested less than a third of 1% of their population IRRC. I really wonder how many people have it, simply have zero symptoms, especially if 85% of folks who likely show symptoms, test negative. I've paid a lot of attention to the math, and I just hate we don't have more information in some clear and concise form, even though that data is not the best. Frustrating.

Yes. And the current level of lockdown is the warm & fuzzy variety that I hope like hell works.

I was told to get my GF's daughter out of Cali yesterday morning. after an associate walked out of a briefing in an odd shaped Va. building he works at. She loaded up her car and was gone in an hour. Walked into our house while Newsom was shutting it down and her phone BLEW up until I went to bed.

Having some trouble in the area I work in getting some of the local population to comply with directives of social distancing. Know a few people who have tested positive, including coworkers wife. He is quarantine now. I’m just assuming it’s a matter of time for myself and most of my coworkers to become exposed if not already. I’m keeping distance from my parents and others to be safe. Be safe out there all.

I have an employee (reports to a manager who reports to me) that has wanted to work from home for quite a while. When the company sent out the memo on guidelines to be able to work from home he asked his manager if he could work from home and was told he couldn't. He's single, no kids and no overwhelming reason other than convenience. He has a separate office so he's not in a cubicle farm.

Yesterday the owner had a meeting with his managers to go over what we as a company are doing and measures we are taking to protect employees.

Today I sent an email to my staff recapping the meeting. No more than a few minutes after sending the email that employee asked me what is required in order to work from home. The guy is persistent! lol

So In other words, your saying elderly homes are now like being in prison?
I feel bad for everyone that has to be alienated because of the life they had to already trudge through and hope for the best.
Thoughts and prayers are with you and your friends Mike. If the mail Is delivering and you need anything let me know.

Let me guess... He's around 27-33 years old?
