Yeah Saban just mad that the playing fields are evened out in some aspect.

Important context of that he said all that at a banquet in front of a congruent if wealthy Alabama business people.

It was essentially a better prepare to open your checkbooks more than you used to.

He went after Deon Sanders as well.

Looks like Texas and Georgia passed legislation making it illegal for a HS kid to sign an NIL. Not sure when it goes into effect. Not sure if that only covers kids who live in those states or any state. Ohio looking to pass similar legislation.

Exactly. The free cars and furniture aren’t going to cut it anymore. On the flip side though they can drop having to place cash in McDonalds bags outside recruits home now.

Bobby Bowden was a real mentor, not Saban
This is some crazy ass gaslighting, even for 2022 United States of America.

I trust Jimbo as far as I can throw the Christmas tree he left on the curb in Tallahassee when he bolted for College Station.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Of course, you can decide which one of Saban or Fisher are protesting too much.

Based on that, I'll guess who is next:

Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Doubt that State Legislatures can constitutionally make such a law. They have no such jurisdiction.

What they DO have some jurisdiction over is their state educational institutions. They COULD require the public colleges NOT to participate in NIL signings of kids still in high school AT THEIR OWN SCHOOLS. The law would be directed at the State's own institutions then, not the citizenry.

I'd be interested to know if they actually think they can curtail someone's economic rights as an individual or if the previous IE statement is just erroneous description.

.... Hmmmm since this thread is labeled about COLLEGE NIL branding, I assumed the comment was about colleges --- It seems that it must be about maintaining High School eligibility and participation instead. Still, I wonder how that could be "legal" for non-public high schools?

Saban never said anyone broke any state laws. He never really said anyone was cheating either.

People seem to be interpeting this that he means TAMU is cheating, but he definitely never said anyone broke state laws.

I enjoyed the “walking on water” comment.

Jimbo will destroy A&M. Saban is like a mob boss who everyone knows is dirty but can never prove it and does enough good PR to be loved… Jimbo is like that inner city gang leader that nobody likes and is not liked enough to protect.

No he didn't, but he was pretty clear about what he was referring to.

This was brilliant by Saban. Put it out there to the CFB world that another school is outspending Bama, get his fan base all riled up abut it, and then just wait for the money to roll in.

That or he is giving his fan base excuses if they lose to A&M in the next four years.

The whole entire thing was a ploy for more money and to watch Jimbo scurry like a street mouse.
