If he wasn’t fired, why was he no longer allowed to coach or enter the facility?
I'm stunned. I really didn't think Door No. 3 was a serious option.
My guess is Kiffin said he hasn't made a decision and Ole Miss feels it doesn't have the goods to legally suspend him.
Unless damn near everyone is lying, he's going to be LSU's next coach and will be in Baton Rouge at some point next wekeend. I know a lot more there than I can report. Kiffin's deal was discussed in the Board of Supervisors meeting and the Kiffins have been looking at real estate in the Baton Rouge area. There's more, but I need to protect sources who have been nothing but good to me.
I can tell you the SEC Network crew in Baton Rouge for tomorrow's WKU-LSU game all believe Kiffin is LSU's coach. The number on the deal is somewhere between $14-15 million per year.
Logic tells you that if Kiffin were even thinking of staying, the last week wouldn't have happened. And I'm so sick of "Well, Lane's differfent..." Shut up. That's stupid. Occam's Razor is a real thing.
Might he stay? I mean, I guess, but the damage that's been done is real.
This is real risk on Ole Miss' part. Incredible risk. A loss to MSU on Friday, followed by Kiffin's departure for a bitter rival the next day, is deadly to CFP chances. They have to know that.
And if you're saying an announcement is coming on a given day, you already know the announcement.
If I'm right, a guy who is going to be LSU's next coach is going to coach Ole Miss' biggest regular season game with a spot in the CFP on the line. Incredible.
I'm really surprised if it's LSU. So much garbage associated with the program. Maybe he thinks he can get to the top faster given the state of UF and LSU right now.
Ole Miss fans in full meltdown rn, so that's pretty funny.
Lane is probably leaving Ole Miss, but I put zero stock in any of the "insiders" on either side of this, because I've been monitoring the UF boards and they have just as many insiders saying the deal is done as well. What seems to be credible is UF met with Lane's team late last night and laid out a final offer of sorts.Kiffin to LSU is all but done. From their 247 board:

Ole Miss definitely has to drop in the CFP rankings
I also have to emphasize that this same deal was reported “done” by LSU people last week and they even said there would be a 9 AM press conference to announce it this morning. A lot of people just saying shit.Kiffin has done a good job at ole miss but 15M/year is a heavy price to pay for a coach that hasn't won a damn thing.
Surely there's another children's hospital in the state they canthere is no way they have that money unless 1) they are going to somehow stiff Brian Kelly 2) they are planning to put the state of Louisiana deeply in debt
The Illinois of the South is very apt. There are many aspects of Louisiana that I admire, and this is not meant to be a political point, but it doesn't have a reputation for "good" (i.e., competent and non-corrupt) government. It's the Illinois of the South.
I thought the Raising Canes guy was going to pay the buyout.there is no way they have that money unless 1) they are going to somehow stiff Brian Kelly 2) they are planning to put the state of Louisiana deeply in debt
Even if he can its problematic for LSU. What happens when that guy has a favorite player that isn't getting reps? What happens when he feels like he is a team owner and not donor? These will happen and it will be a train wreck.I thought the Raising Canes guy was going to pay the buyout.

Buddy is going to have to sell a lot of mid chicken to teenagers to buy Lane out in five years…I thought the Raising Canes guy was going to pay the buyout.
I hope him and Tommy end up coaching rival schools. Would be entertaining as hell.Does anyone think that Charlie Weis Jr. gets a look to replace Kiffin if he departs the program? Or, does Weis Jr. need some seasoning as HC at a program like FAU first?
His net worth is 17-22 billion. He can buyout and pay for a few coaches with that kind of jack.Buddy is going to have to sell a lot of mid chicken to teenagers to buy Lane out in five years…
I'm just here for the Canes slander. It's just a mid version of Zaxbys.Buddy is going to have to sell a lot of mid chicken to teenagers to buy Lane out in five years…
