I can’t take anybody saying Florida or Penn State should go after Freeman. This isn’t 2005. This isn’t Brian Kelly that has been looking to leave since 2012. ND is putting more resources towards winning than UF or PSU. Why leave?
I think you misinterpret it.

Every team should WANT Freeman. Every team should make a call. It’s dumb to not think that.

Doesn’t mean he’s answering.

Lol...Ryan Day? Seriously. I said young and up coming....not consistently on the hot seat and hated by the majority of the fanbase.
Everyone waiting to see if he can beat Michigan. Like Kirby and Bama. That little lying turd is 1-7 against Bama!

It doesn't surprise me that Jimmy made some enemies, but I'm curious as to what Franklin did to Todd specifically.
McShay and Ryan Day are boys. McShay and Chip Kelly are boys. I haven't really looked, but I bet McShay has an overall positive opinion of others in the Chip Kelly/New Hampshire coaching tree.

I bet that connection has given him some reason.

McShay is also trying to break through into podcasting.

Ohio States NC last year comes with a buckeye hardcore fan big asterisk next to it. Losing to a shitty Michigan team towards the end of the season takes a lot of shine off that trophy. He needs to put some Michigan beat downs on his resume soon.

If Mullen has already very publicly shit on the Arkansas job I don't really think he would go to Kentucky. I actually think Mullen sticks around at UNLV at least one more season. He's already been in the SEC and crashed out hard to the point I thought he might be done coaching. He doesn't have the fire to coach in a competitive big time conference and deal with the churn of recruiting.

UNLV is a pretty good spot for someone like him at the moment. He doesn't have to worry about a recruiting arms race and he's in a conference where his scheming and coaching ability alone should carry them to 9-11 wins a season which would ensure lifetime tenure basically. Plus, they have a pretty strong investment into the NIL and program for a G5 team.

Fun. Ill have a go:

Florida: Lane Kiffin
Penn State: Matt Rhule
UCLA: Not changing a damn thing.
Stanford: Mike Denbrock
Virginia Tech: Jimbo Fisher
Arkansas: Gus Malzahn
Oklahoma State: Eric Morris
Florida State: Lincoln RIley (but not because the SEC and now Big10 are too competitive......not.at.all...)
Auburn: PJ Fleck
Wisconsin: Jake Dickert
Nebraska: James Franklin

USC: Will Stein (after Kenny Dillingham turns them down, Chad Bowden disguises himself as a pool maintenance man and then refuses to leave Dillinghams yard until until he joins. While dancing to Logical Song by Scooter, Bowden overcommits to the bit and exposes 'little Chad' to the neighbours. Police are called. Bowden's complicated legal status prevents him from contacting recruits without a USC legal chaperone present. Dillingham turns USC down again....)
Ole Miss: Glen Schumann
Minnesota: Sean Lewis

Reps for the USC story. I like how Rhule and Franklin switch jobs. I would hope Denbrock doesn't leave for Stanford, hopefully he has more sense than that.

Denbrock deserves to run his own shop. Stanford is a classy organisation. I think he'd do poorly there but mainly because the football program sucks structurally. It would be a good place to coach and get paid for a 3 year stretch, at his age.
I like coach. i feel its selfish to want him to stay as a co-ordinator forever. His resume is also, first class/outstanding.

I mean at his age, with all of his experience, if he hasn't taken a HC position by now, does he even want to be a HC? I'm sure opportunities have been there in the 40 years or so he's been coaching.

This man loves ND. He spurned a long time friend, a man he was a groomsman for in his wedding, to return to ND. Sure, I'd love him to make a bit more money elsewhere just for him and his family, but he's doing quite well in South Bend. Stanford would be a bad move for his career obviously, basically setup to fail. Maybe he takes a job like that just before he retires, who knows. Until then I think he has more miles, and some guys are happier being coordinators.

FSU needs money to buy their way out of the ACC, they can't just be dropping an additional $10MM by firing Norvell mid-season.

Translation: "We save $10 million by firing him at the end of the year instead of now.

Besides, the season's already screwed, what difference does it make, as long as he's not here next year."

Very interesting game of chicken going on between the struggling teams right now, they can all save money by waiting, but Penn State and now Florida have taken the hit to try and snatch up the best coaches before anyone else enters the race.

Helped UF that Sun Belt Billy's buyout was only $21.8 mill.

G5 Mike's is $58.7 mill right now just for him.

If Texas loses again (good odds of that happening) does Sarkisian end up on that list?

Would be something to see Texas can him and then hire Kiffin.

I can't imagine they would get rid of Sark to be replaced with the troll version Sark

I feel like Sark has completely gotten a pass on this season because all of the blame has fallen squarely on Arch

Sark's brought them out of the wilderness and back into championship contention. They're off a bit this year because Arch isn't all he was made out to be, but in the big picture, Sark has them back in a way they haven't been in 20 years. He's not going anywhere soon.

You have to be kidding me. They're the only team to make two straight CFPs. Sark's seat is extremely cold.

As someone who was in Austin during the Herman years, the turnaround that he's done of the culture of that program is remarkable.

I agree with many who have said it here. MMFF only leaves for the NFL after he gets an ND CFP Championship and it feels right to take his talents to the next level.

Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman Gets Big Prediction for Next Coaching Job

And I do think he is one of the select few coaches who has the personality and leadership style that can excel in both The NCAA and The NFL for sure!

So that would be a no to the question @Bluto asked.

Have to be honest, I don't know any more with most of these schools. It seems like money and expectations outweigh time, patience and realism. Tens of millions of dollars firing the state's top paid employee to replace him with another even higher paid state employee. None of it really makes sense to me anymore, but it's an industry of billions of dollars so it's going to do what it's going to do.
