surprised how quickly alot of these G4 programs move in their coaching hires tbh

In saying that I would be delighted if he implemented the army offense at CMU just for the lols

I had to do a double take to make sure the guy in the photo wasn’t Connor Stallions

The Belichick idea of “I won’t recruit, I will give you a shopping list of prospects and it’s your job to pay to get them” is actually really interesting. For so long one of the biggest things for college coaches was talent acquisition… it seems clearly to be shifting away from that where the emphasis will be scheme / culture / organization.

Amazing how the General Manager position in College Football has evolved in the last 18 months. Roster building falls to that office more than the coaches in many situations.

To your point, I heard on ESPN radio yesterday that Prime behaves similarly at CO - He apparently does not hit the road to recruit very much; transfers come to him. I'm sure he also relies on staff to help out in this area.

The issues are that:

1) Most expect this period of open-market to be a short-lived opportunity, so you really can't expect to just build a payment system that's going to be your whole strategy going forward.

2) There's going to be schools that will both pay kids and put emphasis on relationships/culture/education. UNC is rich but so are a lot of other schools. Unless Belicheck thinks he's going to be able to maximize value, I don't see how they do it that way.

I don’t think belichiks way works unless he wins immediately. They would have to go crazy in the portal this cycle

the last good team BB had was 2019, pre pandemic. Do these current HS kids even remember him and Tom Brady? Right now they're probably locked in on Andy Reid, Dan Campbell, etc.

We're in a whole new era now, so I get it. Forget everything you think you know. Personally, if I'm UNC, I try to find my Curt Cignetti rather than an NFL guy. But Cignetti could be a one hit wonder for all we know.

UNC has little to lose by doing this. BB is 72 years old and most programs would not think to hire him.

On the other end, I'm wondering if the NFL teams are not calling on BB and his pipeline is dry there. Maybe he rode the Brady Patriots Train for as long as it could go and his NFL value prop is next to nothing?

Honestly I see this lasting maybe two years, tops. These kids don’t have contracts, they portal out the instant they don’t like something. I don’t see that sitting well with Bill. This has disaster written all over it.

I wonder how he'll relate to the younger players given they can up and transfer in a heartbeat.

I don't think he's going to do well there, but I get what they're trying to do. Anything. They have no football tradition to speak of and they're taking a shot.

Dec. 10

Michigan, North Carolina: Chip Lindsey has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Michigan, sources tell 247Sports' Matt Zenitz. Lindsey was North Carolina's OC the last two seasons. Was previously an OC at places like UCF and Auburn and a head coach at Troy.

Lol....dude is nuts. I don't think there is any way in hell he will fit in today's college game given how he ran things at the Patriots. At 72 years old I wouldn't want to
