To be fair, his four years at USF showed actual progression. 2-4-8-10 were his win totals in order.
He's a Florida guy and FSU was supposedly his dream job. He was given 21 games. Didn't even get a full second season and they canned him. That's on them.
At 45 years old, there is a chance if he succeeds at FAU maybe he gets another shot at a Power Five job, but I seriously doubt that for a number of reasons. FAU is actually a pretty good gig if you can keep it. He's also in a conference now where a lot of the guys there are rising stars who won't be around long: Healy, Huff, Littrell, Hall, Clark are all guys with the potential to move on to bigger things. He could stay there and be perfectly fine.
I'm more interested in how if FSU is broke that they're able to pay all these coaches. I get not wanting to take on another buyout if that's the case, but broke means busted and you can't pay anybody let alone multiple people.
