Just cant see CKs gameplan working in the SEC. Too much heavy run and CK loves the fast agile guy. And honestly, when he did play the SEC with those Mach 12 guys they always lost. Just got manhandled and the run eventually wore them down.

Just dont see it working anywhere but West and East coast.

Kelly's Oregon teams were 1-2 against SEC teams. Bear Tennessee 48-13, lost National Title game to Auburn and Cam Newton 22-19 (no shame there) and lost to LSU 40-27. His protege Mark Helfrich a year later beat FSU in the playoffs 59-20 with Kelly's players. Put Kelly at A&M with all those Texas area recruits and he'd compete with anyone in the SEC.

How much longer do the Bamers expect Saban to coach?

That'd directly influence whether or not I'd take a SEC job. If he's there, I don't want to be coaching against him.

And if he's gone, one hell of a job just opened up. Talk about 2 birds.

Bamers expect him to coach until he dies. Now Saban on the other hand I don't know.

Saban hasn't slowed down a bit. In fact, I believe he is working harder today than he ever has. He just seems to be the type that will go as long as he can and be effective. He will know when that time comes so until then any guess would be pure speculation.

As far as A&M and Tenn... the Aggie job would be more appealing right now because they have so much money to throw around and have that desire to get out from under Big Bro's shadow. Plus in state recruiting is insane. It took Tenn several offers to land BJ even though the UT program has top flight facilities, spend plenty of $$ on recruiting, and have a passionate fan bases. I blame most of that on an inept AD at the time. Would C. Kelly be successful at either school? Hard to say but I wouldn't discount him given his name and the resources both schools offer.

I think Sumlin may be rebounding from his earlier dumpster fire UCLA start. If he beats Florida, Ole Miss, MSU, and LSU.... I think he stays somewhat comfortably. Lose one and it's staying warm.

The same thing that happened in 2012 is happening again to almost every Vol fan. Bunch of delusional nut jobs.

Do they fire him now or wait till Bama beats them by 50 in Tuscaloosa next week?

They have @UK, SoMiss, @Mizzou after Bama, maybe... Brady Hoke *gulp* can rally them for a 3 game win streak. What a horrible back up plan. If I'm the AD, I'd skip Hoke and name Larry Scott the interim, he did the same thing at the U a few years back after they fired Al Golden.

Brave folks to do that on the road.

Jones is now 0-4 all-time vs. Will Muschamp, and his seat is legitimately on fire
Barrett Sallee 5m ago

Tennessee, it's time.

It's time to embrace your future, forget about the past and move on from coach Butch Jones. If getting shellacked 41-0 by Georgia two weeks ago at Neyland Stadium wasn't enough to force Jones out during the bye week, Saturday's 15-9 loss to South Carolina should do the trick.

Jones is now 0-4 against Will Muschamp during his Tennessee career, including last season's upset when the Vols were ranked No. 18 and today's debacle that, in addition to extending an ominous losing streak against Muschamp, extended Tennessee's touchdown drought to 10 quarters.

How hard is it to tell your redshirt freshman quarterback to spike the ball with no timeouts in a two-minute drill? Jones didn't even do that when the Vols were inside the 10-yard line with 20 seconds left and Jarrett Guarantano -- making his first career start -- waited a to run a play as seconds ticked away instead of preserving time.

What more do you need to make a move on Jones? Nothing.

"0-4 against Will Muschamp." Jesus. That's not something any coach wants on his resume.

Fan in the stands by the as Team leaves the field and enters the Tunnel:
New Coaches, New Coaches!

Jimbo Fisher stops, turns towards the fan and responds:
Bring your a@# down here and say that!

In the post game presser Fisher added:

Are you going to be a real fan or not?” Fisher said of general fan reaction following the poor start to this season. “Just keep fighting with us. We ain’t quitting on you. Please don’t quit on us. We’re going to keep fighting, scratching, coaching and playing, and you see the heart and desire of those kids.

“I understand you’re going to get on us [coaches]. That’s part of the business. That’s part of life. I understand that. … There ain’t no quit in us either. We’re right there. We just have to find a way to get it.

Just took a quick look at this and noticed that harbaugh is number 6. Fisher is 30. And BK is all the way down to 54.

Crazy to think that harbaugh is so high? Are they really calling for his head there?

Kelly#54 and Orgeron #56, both up 30+ slots, BUT they and Frank Solich #75 are the only 6 Win coaches ranked below #80.

Only 4 other 6 Win coaches ranked #100 or lower, Lincoln Riley #82, Rocky Long #88, Clay Helton #92, and Mike Norvell #100.

Mike Leach with 7 Wins is ranked #97. The next 7 Win coach is Kirby Smart ranked 25 slots higher.

He's 6-5 in last 11 games after a 14-1 run.

He has the same record over the past 11 games as Butch Jones (and Michigan's not eve the Champions of Life!) and he can't beat their biggest rivals. The novelty and name brand wear off at some point. I remember reading somewhere last week before the PSU game that he had the same record as Hoke through however many games, but was actually doing worse against MSU and OSU.

Harbaugh had Andrew Luck to make him and his offense look good in Palo Alto. John O'Korn and Wilton Speight (what great, old timey names) are not Andrew Luck.

https://www.si.com/college-football/2017/10/23/florida-gators-coach-jim-mcelwain-death-threats
By Nihal Kolur October 23, 2017

Florida coach Jim McElwain said his family and Gators players have received death threats this season.

The Gators have lost two straight games against SEC rivals LSU and Texas A&M. Florida entered the season ranked No. 17 nationally, but have sputtered to a 3-3 start behind an inconsistent offense and a controversy-filled locker room.

When asked Monday about his coaching staff "hanging in there" through the season, he revealed many of them, including him and his family, have received death threats from angry fans.

"I think it's a pretty good lesson for the way things are," McElwain said on Monday, according to the Tampa Bay Times. "There's a lot of hate in this world. A lot of anger, and yet, it's freedom to show it. The hard part is, obviously, when the threats are against your own players. Death threats to your families. The ill-will that's brought upon out there...In this business, we're the ones who you take the shots at, and that's the way it is."

Harbaugh should be on this list next year when they again don't win the BIG.

Michigan fans are psychos just like their head coach. They should absolutely not fire Harbaugh. They are who we thought they were, this year.

Kelly started the season on the hot seat. As long as he keeps winning ...

Lincoln Riley's getting heat for close wins against weaker competition.

Clay Helton will get there IF he as more beatdowns like ND's. Looking at his schedule USC should win out.

I doubt SC can win out October. They are 3-3 vs ASU over the last 6. ASU is hot, SC just got saddled and broke. I took ASU at home and the 3.5.

sorry, forgot the link. it's from the watchlist News Room - Bear Bryant Awards

Thought it was interesting that there are some hot seat guys or fired guys from last year, and some on this list going on the hot seat.

grumpy last night?

Not at all. Asking for a cite or link for a post, particularly an incongruous post, isn't grumpy. Thanks for the link.

Fans, some fans are fickle, lose a game or don't win by "enough" and they demand a new coach. Their hot coach on Friday is toast on Sunday. OU fans are grumbling that Lincoln Riley is the wrong guy because he's not winning big enough over the lesser competition and they lost a game.

The content of the post seemed more apropos for the Kelly Revisited thread as almost all of them were ranked in AP Top 25 and merit consideration as possible Kelly replacements.
