It felt SO good to see so many breaks go with the boys instead of against.

Also, I ran around my house uo and down the stairs twice, and jumped on my fiancé while she was in bed (PSU fan BOOOOO) celebrating the win as I screamed the fight song.

We got the W but the thing is we didn’t even play close to our best game. I think if this team cleans up the red zone issues a little we can win again a Lawrence led Clemson.

91 yard drive to tie the game at the end of regulation. That’s what championship teams are made of.

One bad thing, but actually kind of good, is that Clemson's backup QB looked great and threw for 400+ yards without turning it over. If he had a bad game, folks could easier say "yea, ND won, but...."

They will still do that, but it's a lot harder to make that case. We just need to beat them with TL now, or keep it really close in the ACCC.

Without knowing what ND did, if you told me before the game DJ threw for over 400 yards I would have thought we lost by 20

Daelin Hayes is looking good again.
Shayne Simon had his best game especially early.
Hinish was really good - could get drafted.
Lamb makes some good tackles on spesh.
JOK is the man.

Yea, but we turned them over twice which was huge. The defense directly scored 7 and put the offense in easy position for another 3.

It allowed the offenses inconsistencies in the 2nd and 3rd to not matter as much to the final result.

I was lucky to be in that stadium tonight - special feeling. Most incredible thing I've ever been a part of. So happy for the players but also the students. This is their last game this year (last week of class is next week), and it's been quite the semester - COVID, elections, student deaths, Fr. Jenkins, etc. and I think you all could see the 3+ months of pent up anxiety and stress and grief exploding out into joy. I'm proud to be a Domer tonight.

The Good:
1. This team. They play for each other. The defense picks up the offense. The offense made some up plays tonight despite struggles. Coaches making enough adjustments. Book having the guts to come back out after the drop by Skowronek. So much more.

2. The students/ND stadium experience. Best I've ever seen it (compares to USC a couple of times in the last decade, Michigan in 2012, end of Stanford 2012, maybe some others). 10,000 felt like 80,000, especially when defense was on the field - even when Clemson kept on driving. They've done an excellent job with the video board/band to keep students energized. A couple of really cool clips (former ND games/Rudy clips/even a clip from The Miracle!) that fired the kids up. And right before the last stand in 2OT, they showed a compilation of pep rally/pre-game speeches that included Digger, Lou (including the Spirit of Notre Dame won this game clip). I don't know how or why they saved it for 2OT, but I'm glad they did. Place was rocking. I'd be interested to know how it came across on TV.

The Bad:
1. We can play better/more disciplined, and I think that's such a great message to be able to give a team that just beat the number one team.

2. Refs/replay. Without going into bad/missed calls and picked up flags, just too many replays and re-replays that screwed up the flow of the game. I know some of the replays were warranted, but it seemed like it took forever just for them to go to replay.

The Worst:
1. As I was walking back from the stadium, I realized we missed a golden opportunity to chant "A-C-C" at the end of the game... Hopefully we won't get that chance again.

Go Irish!

Fuck the pundits. #1 is #1. Every team goes through crap, especially this season. Next year, 10 years, 20 years from now no one will remember the events leading up to the game. All we'll see is ND beat the #1 team, period.

To add to this, 20 years from now it will look like Clemson lost their future #1 pick QB and replaced him with another future #1 pick QB. Depending on how their respective NFL careers play out, it might even look like the better QB actually played.

Even if you take away those 10pts, and the 14 pts in OT, we still did pretty decent on O comparatively to other teams they've played. Then factor in 2 TD drops that could have been 8 more pts, and Book's fumble which would have been +3-7. I'm not going to harp on AD's drop, but Mayer's was bad. So just say we should have had at least 7-11 more (+4 Mayer drop and + 3 at least on Book's fumble). Then add in several PI calls that didn't get called, and while your at it, several face mask too.

We overcame a lot of mistakes, and a lot of uncalled penalties.

Man, I love when we've played LSU or any other team from SEC, ACC, etc and their fans start chanting their conference...and then ND fans respond with "In-De-Pen-Dent!" Really shut up those LSU fans in 2014 and 2018 lol.

Some entries

Karens suck the joy out of everything.

they just beat the number 1 team; broke a long reg season win streak

we just lost to ……. indiana

and the team we lost to last week got beat 49-7

and folks still want harbaugh

Think you just give more shits than an excited college co-ed. Living in the moment has it's upside. They may regret it if this turns into their team missing games, but they'll also have this euphoria to carry with them forever.

Lord knows I'd love to be dealing with the rush the field/don't rush the field dilemma, but alas, I've tied my wagon to Michigan.

Cheers

I didn't get to watch the game due to working, but I had it on Sirius on my phone and got to listen to some of it, including most of OT. Congratulations and that's a seriously great comeback and win. Hats off to your Irish for taking down Clemson.

Just, you know, not if we face each other later...still a lot of dominoes that have to fall and all

In fact, can you guys just give us this one? I heard Covid year doesn't count anyway.

Oh dang, I'd forgotten who Mr Bishops team is. Consider that withdrawn.
Wishing his family good luck not his team.
