Not trying to troll you guys, but what's your solution to the QB situation for next year? Cutty obviously isn't it, but I'm curious what your thoughts are.

So you have no ideas. Gotcha. You're right that it's a hard fix, but you can still have thoughts. I understand the situation, but I've been brainstorming solutions and wanted to see if anybody had anything.

If we can trade a second and let's say a 5th and Garapolo I would love that. Not sure I wanna give up the third pick for him. But what do the Bears do at 3? We need secondary help I would love to trade down. I wouldn't mind getting a veteran QB like a mike glennon. I would love to get jimmy and trade down and pick up an extra second or third rounder.

Fuck that noise. First of all, the Pats are bad trade partners in the sense that they always get the better end of the stick. Secondly, Garapolo is fools gold. He will never be a premier QB in this league, regardless of what any soulless Pats fan tries to sell you.
Draft a mid round guy with upside. Then get a journeyman QB until we find a franchise guy through the draft or through circumstance.

Sorry if I came off too harsh in my posts, I didn't really mean for that. I've kicked the tires mentally on a Jimmy trade and I have the same reservations as wooly. I'm leaning now towards trading down in the 1st if possible and then trading up to the top of the 2nd or bottom of the 1st with whatever the previous trade down yielded for whichever QB falls. I think that an elite interior O line is going be the rookie's best friend. That and Howard for play action.

Trading down and then back up for whoever slides would be a boss move.
Which also means we'll undoubtedly just pick something obscure at 3rd.

I don't trust the Bears to do anything worthwhile in the draft and will almost certainly overpay for veteran FAs this off season. Fool me once...fool me twice...

Overall, I'm surprised that the Bears didn't overpay for a veteran Tackle. Maybe they have learned something.
Surprising that they actually made some quality acquisitions. Glennon's deal may sound bloated at first glance, but he's essentially getting paid starter money for 1 year and essentially has to play for the rest of his contract. Demps is a quality veteran presence that the Bears desperately need in the secondary, because odds are that they'll be adding another young body through the draft, whoever that is. Wheaton is a solid player to insert into the 3 spot. A lot is riding on White staying healthy and developing. This is the make or break year for him (hopefully not literally).
Overall, the Bears can be a pretty solid team next season if they just stay f*cking healthy. I really shouldn't have to pray for a healthy year, because quite frankly after the last five seasons, the Bears are long overdue for a healthy year or 10. Last year was a bloody nightmare in that regards.
Also, bit off topic, but I can't help but be annoyed by the Bear fans that populate the facebook page. All they do is complain and b*tch about every single move the Bears make. I mean, literally, EVERY SINGLE ONE. There's a time and a place to go on a tirade, but 6 months prior to the season opener isn't it. When the team is giving up back-to-back 50+ point games, one of which to their arch-rival, THEN is a time to go on a tirade. Now? It's just annoying. We have current Chicago sports to complain about, like the Bulls. Focus your anger and hatred on the Bulls.

The Bears addressed pretty much every need in free agency. So now I feel our first pick is a real wild card. We may pick the best available player. We certainly are a legitimate option as a team that would trade down. It could go a variety of ways. But either way, I would still like to see another cb, safety and QB drafted. I would also have no problem grabbing Mixon if we were sliding.

I'm not going to even spend time watching them. Hell, most of them are blacked out in Indy anyways.
Silver lining is that my Fall Sundays are freed up.
