i mean they are already winning more than the bears so i would hope.
The Chargers are 4-5. The Bears are 3-7.

From a roster point of view, Harbaugh or anyone else probably wants the Chargers job more than the Bears job. Chargers have a defense that can't stop anyone remotely good at offense. The Bears are trying to rebuild a rebuild.

The Chargers defense has problems but has talent and their offense has a QB. I’m not sure if their GM is on the hot seat but it’s a no brainer between them and the Bears. Heck they’re likely to be the most appealing of any opening.

I’m not sure after this whole Michigan debacle that Harbaugh will be as insistent on the front-office control he has vs what he’s sought in past flirtations. NFL teams obviously were wary to give him that control before he was mired in scandal. If he’s intent on escaping the NCAA and additional sanctions, he may be much more apt to take less than he would’ve last year.

well use Justin Fields start in the nfl as the baseline even tho Herbert was the year before.

Bears are 12-32. Chargers are 23-20 in those 2.5 seasons.

It isnt even close. OBVIOUSLY the chargers would be quicker to win at.

Cool. I hope Harbaugh goes to San Diego.

Man I hope not. If they keep him and draft Williams....guess I'll never watch another bears game again. Already hard as hell to watch this year....and last year.

Based on how Justin Fields looked yesterday and the collapse in the fourth quarter, Eberflus can't be retained.

And based on how Caleb Williams is responding to things not going his way this year, I hope they stay very far away from him. Stick with Fields, build around him and get him a new coaching staff.

It's not a great situation. Eberflus is as good as gone and if they stick with Fields then he's on his 3rd coaching staff in 4 years. Arranged marriages are the Bears' way.

I saw this and he is on the mark about a lot of things.

Virginia McCaskey is 100 years old. The likelihood that any of her kids want this team when she's gone is slim to none by most accounts. The team will be sold and they'll cash in at some point.

The hope is that person will have the vision to bring this team into the current century when it comes to marketing and competing in the modern NFL. New York has two teams. Los Angeles had none and now has two again. Chicago has one but two baseball teams. It's a Bears town. Period. It should be THE premier market for professional football and hasn't been for a very long time.

Would love to see an ownership group that is lead by Peyton Manning. I am sure he wants his teeth into a NFL team.

We have talked about this at length but build around Fields. He has the tools, and a competent coaching staff could be a very good team in the future.

Fields off the waiver wire to save my FFB season - hope he plays like his job is on the line. 100 yard rushing first game back is a good start.

I don't really care who it is, I just want someone that is dedicated to winning another Super Bowl and putting a good team on the field year after year in an effort to compete for Super Bowls.

Peyton Manning and Chicago seems like a very interesting partnership.

Even though a lot of what he's talking about is true... feels odd that that this is coming from him, especially with how his stint with the Bears went
This isn't surprising. He's always been outspoken. He was outspoken when he was playing here and was part of the franchise for three years. He saw how they operated. Called out Cutler, questioned the work ethic of certain teammates, etc.

He is also proof of the myth that "The McCaskeys are cheap" because they paid him pretty nicely while he was part of the team. The guy probably holds most game, season and career tight end records for the Bears. He broke quite a few of Ditka's in a short amount of time.

I'm genuinely sorry Bears fans.

Should the Chicago Bears go the Jim Harbaugh route at head coach this offseason, they could be married to a quarterback who threw for a total of 60 yards against Penn State. The Bears have yet to fire head coach Matt Eberflus, but the 4-8 team is trending in that direction.

Bienemy seems like a dream when compared to the franchise getting anchored to Harbaugh and his #1 Little Bitch Lieutenant, for the foreseeable future.

Bienemy actually seems like a quality hire, given that the Chiefs offense basically went into the shitter after he left.

But I expect Harbaugh, because of course the meatball franchise would hire that meatball.

Nothing to do with their offensive performance. They went from having the top scoring offense in '22 to the 11th scoring offense in '23.

And really, their wins against the Bears, Raiders and Chargers are doing some SERIOUS heavy lifting for that 11th ranking. The play calling has been predictable and doesn't lend the offense to getting receivers open, so thus, pretty much everybody who isn't Kelce is struggling.

It's no shock that the play calling has been questionable when you go from Bienemy to our old friend Matt Nagy as the new OC.
