Bernstein sucks
Ok. Is he wrong in this instance? Because the organization is making themselves look like asses on multiple fronts, and how they're handling Fields is one of them. It's Pace/Nagy/Trubisky all over again.
Just seemed like an easy enough connection to make considering the beat was talking about Alan Williams' departure had HR involved and now the RB coach was let go due to a decision made by HR. Perhaps they're unrelated? But if so, this makes it look even worse for Flus that he picked multiple guys that have these problems.
I don't know that it really matters. If it's connected, I guess that makes it more fun or something? Two assistants are gone before Thanksgiving. It makes absolutely no sense.

They're showing what a clown show they are. Yet again.

It matters only in as much that it would prove that Flus is bad at picking coaches to be on his staff even beyond on-field performance.

anyone that needs additional proof that Eberblus is a chooch on multiple levels may never be convinced. The Williams fiasco in and of itself was big enough. Getsy can't call plays. Now we have another guy gone during season for reasons unknown.

The whole regime is making people lose faith before they really get off the ground.

I listened to this live Monday. Bernstein was spot on, on this. So was Holmes. Getsy more or less saying #1 needs to buy into their way. That is not good coaching. Good coaching is catering to your players strengths. It is evident that Getsy refuses to play to fields strengths. It is mind blowing. Please do what the raiders did and give him the axe midseason.

Bernstein and Holmes generally don't care about calling people to the carpet. Cubs, Sox, Bears, Bulls, Hawks, Northwestern. They tend not to fluff things for fear of losing access.

We've seen this story before with the Bears and QBs. Grossman/Orton, Cutler/Hanie and now Fields/Baguette. Bears fans become disenfranchised with the QB1 and can't wait to get a taste of what the backup can do. Orton had the running game and defense to mask his weaknesses. Hanie sucked. Bagent or whatever his name is on paper was a great story. They beat the lowly Vikings. Then they got piss pounded against the Chargers. So now what?

Nagy consistently tried to make Trubisky something he wasn't and they ultimately failed. I think we're seeing the same thing with Justin Fields to where any chance of him being a franchise quarterback is being intentionally sabotaged. We can probably assume that Assistant GM Ian Yates Cunningham is going to get a GM opportunity soon, and I think he's a lot of the brains in the current operation, so his leaving likely becomes a loss.

Grim. As usual. Kind of White Sox grim, actually.

I'm assuming that the parameters of an extension were in place by the time the trade for Sweat was executed. However, if that isn't the case and it's only a hope that they extend Sweat then what in the hell are we doing here?

I want to give Poles the benefit of the doubt and let this play out, but it's getting harder to do that for all of the reasons laid out above.

That franchise is a career killer.

Unfortunately my packers might be headed down that road. It’s been a fun 30 yr ride though.

The world lost Walter 24 years ago today. I was 21 years old and a senior in college. I was in a complete fog for the rest of the day. It was the first time one of my athletic idols passed away. I met him when I was ten years old. He asked me about school, my family and we never talked about football. No one other than my parents ever encouraged me to take school seriously.

I could never have imagined that years later my daughter would play soccer with his granddaughter.

I wonder if he was somehow connected to whatever the hell happened with Alan Williams?
i dont have athletic and obviously any article needs to be tfwiw but the espn article specifically states the following:

A source told ESPN that Walker had previously been reprimanded by Bears HR for his workplace behavior and that a second such instance led to his firing.

The Bears' HR department also was involved in the decision that led to Williams' resignation, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter, but that instance is not related to Walker's firing.
this dude could have been showing up drunk to work for all we know. HR is a pretty broad stroke of paint.

They just need to do a clean sweep...GM all the way down. This has become an utter shit show and an embarrassment. Never go for a GM that has no experience when you team sucks

That's kind of the problem. They just did a clean sweep a year ago.

Yeah...Poles is in over his head and the entire coaching staff is a joke. Blow it up again and start over. Hell even the blackhawks show a little more promise in their rebuild than the bears do

For the purposes of the draft, somehow both teams needed to lose last night but only one could. I was disappointed.

Oh, the game sucked, too.

I was actually hoping carolina would win so that cardinals would maintain #1 and take the Williams decision out of bears hands

I wouldn't hate it either. I think he's smart enough to realize that Justin Fields isn't the problem either. Keep him around, build up the OL and DL and be the 49ers/Eagles in a few years.

He can be interested all he wants, but are they going to pay him what he's going to ask for and give him VP control that Pete Carroll has in Seattle? I think the answer to that question as it relates to the Bears is no.

I'd hate it. They wouldn't be building a Frankenstein, he'd be ready made to walk in the door and do what he's done everywhere he's been. Win games but not a championship, alienate everyone in the building around him and eventually leave leaving a mountain of bullshit behind him.
