I pondered the diesel when I first heard the rumor, but I thought about it, and I'm quite happy with the power and fuel economy in the 2012. Being it will likely become a summer driver only for the most part after I pick up something new, think I'm just going to hill-billy it up a little like my 93. Totally went through the YJ. It has new just about everything new (bumpers, tops, seats, console, fender flares, hinges, doors, winch, etc.), except for the in-line 6. might have a stroker kit put on in a year or two, but not sure. I know most people don't like the square headlights, but the YJs are definitely my choice of the pre-JK. Hard to find a CJ in decent condition these days, and prefer the YJ wheel base. The TJ as you said, got a little too frilly. Also, way too much computer crap on the TJ. The YJ is plain jane enough under the hood that I can do most of the work.
