So if one guy is the problem in a locker room......you'd rather bring the whole house down than get rid of the problem?

Sorry, Martin IS THE PROBLEM. Not Incognito. Not the Dolphins.

Welcome to the NFL. You're other teammates went through the same pranks, including your QB.

Get over yourselves.

Holy **** Pat, can you not grasp the concept that just because it has always been done that way doesn't mean it is right. Is that such a difficult concept to understand?

I fail to see how Martin is the problem in all of this. Please elaborate.

so its Martin's fault he is from a different background/has a different mentality to the rest of his co-workers?

Martin is the problem. Take a step back from the "bullying" approach.

Yes, I blame Martin. If he was playing along this entire time (which many other players are coming forward and saying...even former players) and was ok with this...and then had a "bad day" and flipped out and got his pussy hurt and left?

It's Martin. No question about it. If it was a big problem, don't joke about it or play along and report it to your coaches from the very begining.

there's so many angles to this thread, so what exactly are you blaming him for?

Pointless survey. Most players on other teams didn't like Incognito before this all happened.

I'm not defending his rep...

So you dismiss what his own teammates are saying (Tannehill, Hartline, McKinnie)....and use a fvucking anonymous survey from other players on other teams think?

LOL.

If I had to possibly play with this douchebag for the foreseeable future, I would say nice things about him too.

lol... Have you ever heard of the phrase, "don't shoot the messenger?"

I'm not getting drug into this thread. I've kept up with it though, for entertainment value. Just thought the link was worth posting...

Again, I hit it spot on. Deny all you want. This is a typical locker room situation that, unfortunately, got thrown into the limelight (Incognito is to blame as well) and the anti-bully crowd, hungry for a victim, pounced without knowing the facts.

I hope Martin never sees the field again. He doesn't deserve too.

this is why i asked exactly what martin is to blame, but not incognito and the fins. avoiding the question with acamp makes it difficult to understand what you're talking about. just looking for clarification.

The fact that it's anonymous makes it more likely to reflect reality. Players who are familiar with the NFL locker room "culture" would rather play with Martin. That's a pretty easy thing to understand.

Which player would you rather have as a teammate?
Incognito 15
Martin 34
Neither 23

If they thought about Martin like you do, the "neither" answer would be larger. Fully 1/3 of the league thinks Martin is just fine.

EDIT: I should say fully 1/3 of the sample. Not sure if it was a true random sample or not...can't necessarily generalize.

Richie Incognito, Jonathan Martin, and the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal - Grantland

i just came across this article that i feel is a great representation of my own position on this matter. my stake in this is to shed light on why the soft/badass debate is a side note that is distracting from the real issue. it's hard for us all to get everything out in short posts where we get lost in the tiniest of detail. the bottom line in my eyes is that machismo is BS and martin had every right to leave the team without being called soft.

But that has nothing to do with the moral culpability of the parties in this circumstance. Probably even less want to play with Terrell Owens, but I think we can all agree that he's blameless here.

Would these same players in the Dolphin locker room not stick up for Martin as well? They may have to play with him for a while, no?

Again, Incognito's rep with other teams has nothing to do with this situation. If anything, the media seems to be scrambling for anything to paint Incognito in a negative light because they're wiffing on the whole "bully" thing.

I'll take guys in the same locker room anyday over these polls and reporters.

Philly players destroyed Riley Cooper in the media after his moronic comment...If Dolphins players thought Incognito was in the wrong, they'd be all over him too.

But if Martin had broken some kind of a masculine locker room code, he'd be anathema. This poll suggests that a large portion of the league doesn't view him that way.

Look i don't agree with IrishPat on this discussion but he has every right to express his opinion just as much as the next guy. And to whoever stated that he shouldn't be allowed to express such opinion on this board and should be banned i say get over yourself. Its a message board for Christ sake
