I don't see Kelly being fired even if he finished with a losing record. Sadly a losing record might not even be enough to get BVG out of here with Kelly's stubborn ego.

So we'll stop paying Weis for doing nothing and start paying Kelly for doing nothing? I believe Kelly can win with the right D coordinator.. not some fucking schmuck he worked with 20 years ago.

Very good recruits under performing, 2 or 3 games a year where we are flat unprepared, won't admit his mistakes, I believe this will make Kelly either 0-10 against top ten teams. Getting embarrassed on national tv to a very average team. 26-27 games in for BVG and we can't tackle. Every off season has a negative situation.

Agree. It appears that 2012 was an aberration in what is a perennial 8-5 team under Kelly. I would be happy to see everyone go.

Coming back.

But this is still the worst game I have seen from a BK team

I agree with whoever said clean house on the defense.

Let the most talented players play. Even if it is a true freshman.

Most disappointed in Cole Luke. He has just been Gary Grayed

We'll come back and lose at the end, It's what we do best in games like this and Texas and Clemson and Stanford and FSU and...

As we are seeing here, we are solid offensively.. Kelly needs someone that can run a tough minded, disciplined defense. BVG is dealing with massive injuries in his secondary but he also has a supremely talented front 7. He does nothing but send them out there unprepared.

The offensive game plan sucked after we went down 15-7. It wasn't until we stretched the ball down the field that it got a little better. Yes I know they are playing more relaxed

Play calling on offense was garbage. Run on 1st and 2nd down wasn't working leaving 3rd down and long and the MSU defense could tee up and go after Kizer.

The comeback started when Kelly just let Kizer throw the ball.

The way Kelly looked at him after Lule blew the coverage and Corley caught the ball...

I think Kelly is going to let him go this wekk

That was literally the worst offensive play calling I have ever seen. Kelly, Denbrock, and Sanford are little bitches for not once trying to attack vertically for an entire half+ of football and letting MSU load up to stop the run.

Even worse, all the 3 and outs and turnovers got our defense absolutely gassed. They went from not being able to run the ball... to absolutely gashing us on the ground. Why? Because the defense was stuck on the field FOREVER.

Then you finally get aggressive and it starts working... and then you try a short pass (that fails), then another short pass, then instead of calling a QB draw for an easy first down... they run another short pass play, then take a sack, then punt in a situation where anything but a 3&out and the game is over. Bunch of wimps. You win in college football by being aggressive.

Shame on all of the offensive coaches. Also, Cole Luke picked a hell of a time to have BY FAR the worst game of his career.

Is there anyone out there who would be an obvious upgrade?? I mean someone, without a job RIGHT NOW who they can hire tomorrow or Monday that would obviously be better?? Totally serious question,...

Offense absolutely hung the defense out to dry today. Time of possession is a joke.

The d was OK until they had to be on the field too long. You can't play that much D and expect to be good. Offensive playcalling was suspect at best until the furious comeback started.

I honestly didn't care about the Texas loss because Texas is a good team. MSU is not a good team. We got out coached by the most basic coach in football. Shameful.

I'm usually probably the most likely person to shit on this sentiment as reactionary nonsense. But I actually agree. This thing hit its apex almost a half decade ago. It's time to start over. It's not good enough.

I think the toughness also comes from the strength program. I can appreciate Kelly's loyalty but Longo has to go. We are fluff out there. Especially defensively

There where I think this time is different. We don't need to exactly 'start over.' Coaching, yes. But as far as players, we are in a lot better position than when BK took over. That's why I don't see us taking a huge step back if a change were to come.

Right. I would not dump the roster, obviously. In fact, part of the problem is I think we have talent that deserves to be coached better.

We wasted so much time on our drive down 36-14. We were poorly coached all game, but little things like taking 20 secs to get the play in stood out live. It shows just how unprepared we are. I still don't really know our offensive identity.

It's frustrating to be 1-2 when it's apparent we had more talent than Texas and MSU. I don't even think firing BVG is the answer. BK is a GOOD coach but he just isn't the guy to take us to the next level IMO.

I've never felt that way before today, but it's tough to watch ND in year 7 of BK and Louisville in year 3 of Petrino.

It took Meyer/Harbaugh one season to pass BK with his head start and that's a fact.
