Isn't the term "BK Takeover" a pop culture term for some rap "song" and also a regular Brooklyn NY basketball streetball tournament?
It seems to me that LSU fans just incorporated the term back in April/May when Kelly began Spring Ball. So I guess I don't get some of these comments.
The Old Man follows rap and Brooklyn streetball. Impressive.

No way he coaches 10 years there.
Agreed but people are setting the over/under at 3 and 4. It's a virtual lock that it's over 4 unless Kelly chases some local young women and can be terminated with cause. I'd put the over/under at 6.5. I'm guessing he'll be there 7 years, they'll be come more consistently above average.

He has a track record of stabilizing and improving teams. If he decides to do a "Reboot in the Bayou" and fire all of his trusted staff and hire only top notch recruiters/coaches, then I could see him making a push for a championship.

I don’t think he’ll win a title at LSU but I don’t see him running the program into the ground. I think he’ll consistently have LSU at 9-3/10-2 and in the top 15. What I could see happening is him being the next Mark Richt and after some time the powers that be will get sick of always losing the big game(s).

LSU isn’t going to be happy with 10-2/9-3. If they’re happy with that, they should’ve just kept Ed O.

The problem is, BK won’t do any better than 10-2. Big Game Brian will shit his pants against Alabama, Georgia, and A&M. Hell, I’m pretty confident that FSU beats them in week 1.

Some of his staff is pretty good already. They got some decent commits lately. 2023 will probably be a Top 10 class...not as good as NDs.... but 2024 they are in on some kids. I agree he is at LSU for over 3 years easy. LSU has a bad reputation and needs a clean-up and Kelly is perfect for that.

I think Kelly lasts 4 years at LSU, what he will be remembered for was turning around the culture, and not winning enough games.

I could see FSU popping LSU week 1 this year.

I will definitely try to watch some LSU games this year.
@ FSU: Please make this happen...

Strange commentary here believing that even a very good FSU coach can repair a lousy OLine (essentially by bringing in a transfer from Lamar who had season ending injury there and couldn't maintain enough fitness to last through the Spring game.) There's a lot of fantasizing about how "this could happen .... and this other thing could happen ... etc" regarding FSU. I saw an analyst break down their schedule and wondering if there was ANY "lock" game there other than Duquesne. The FSU vs LSU game is all about which great coach can clean up his team's problems faster (i.e. by first or second game.) A bad OLine vs LSUs style defenses? At New Orleans? One FSU commentator predicted a two-touchdown loss. He said that he thought it might be "competitive."

I mentioned that earlier in the thread...what are the odds if things get dicey at LSU that the administration doesn't pay some hot young strange to seduce BK and terminate him with cause? There's certainly precedent for this in the SEC now between LSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, etc. A couple mil and an NDA are a lot cheaper than $100 mil buyout.

I'm not that jaded to believe this is common practice but I won't say it's impossible. But barring exceptionally despicable practices, I think BK holds on 7+ of his 10 year deal.

You’re right, cause Brian Kelly coached teams have NEVER played down to bad teams.

I also randomly just got pissed about the game at Miami in 2017
Just went and watched the replay because of your comment..lol...God was Wimbush bad and that D...awful. He probably won't have a D or QB that bad in his 10 years (give or take) at LSU

Their defense isn't going to be very good this year

Anything can happen week one. That is why we watch, sometimes it’s for victory sometimes it is the train wreck.

This is the LSU version of the “Ian Book will never play for ND” post

Kelly was asked often Monday about that culture fit and how he’s adapted to Louisiana and the people.

“I don’t think that needs to be geographical in a sense,” he said. “I’ve gotten to love where I’m at in Baton Rouge. I love the people. They love football. They love family. They love food. That fits me really well. I guess I should have been in the South all along.”

This man coached in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.

Yes, all places that hate football, family and food.

He's a liar that those people will laugh with as long as they believe he will win games. Once he drops the AL, FL, Auburn games, they wont put up with him anymore.

True. But the midwest ain't exactly known for food. Very bland stereotype.
Doesn't stop the people there from loving food.

He's going to be the first HC at LSU to not win a National Championship since Gerry DiNardo. I'm here for it.

It wouldn't shock me if his LSU career went either way. Sure, they are going to have a tough slate of games every season, but LSU can roll out of bed into a good recruiting class every year. CBK is a good to very good coach and unless he takes a total dump he will be there for a number of years. Grab an elite QB and he can run the table.
