Having LSU friends and getting to get my weekly wellness check texts in to them gives me the feeling that heroin must give addicts.
The fear that Notre Dame fans and some of their media were spot on about BK's shortcomings. They were right. He's a politician that loves golfing and money. Money, not some insatiable desire to win a NC, is his motivation. And LSU handed him a lot of it.Someone post some Tigerdroppings comments for me, I'm thirsty for some tears
Oh, 100%. He also hasn’t been able toThe “we just can’t execute” refrain is one we heard from him many, many times when he was here. At some point in time, that lack of execution has to be on him and the rest of his staff - a point he never acknowledges.
No man, this team, at least defensively, is not talented. Defensively, we have a few good players here and there, but collectively, they are way behind. We suck at RB, and have an overrated offensive line. I do like the WRs, TE, and Nuss does have potential, however.People acting like Kelly doesn’t have some of the best talent in the SEC right now or the last two years. Come on now.

Wasn’t the lack of defensive talent that did Orgeron in? Seems like it’s been an issue for awhile despite LSU traditionally having a good D. For a quick fix, BK needed an Elko or Freeman at DC and reliance on the staff to win the recruiting wars vs Bama, aTm & UF. BK was never going to be anywhere near Orgeron’s level at recruiting. That’s why he took the LSU gig. I never thought the Boston guy in the Deep South was going to be an issue. The issue is lack of talent & his coaching decisions. piece it all together. Example, last year, if we had this very average defense, we’d likely have won the NC. That offense was so elite, but the defense was so, so, piss poor. He can’t piece it all together, his teams struggle to execute….these are all coaching and lack of attention to detail. It falls on him.
I’m like a broken record, but his limitations are so glaring and evident. He’s not a bad coach, he’s just not an elite coach, and he’s so unlikable. He’s a high floor, low ceiling guy (and most of our fans loathe him).

They really aren’t though. That’s the thing. The truly are not talented. Ignore the LSU helmet and logo. Talent is legit an issue defensively. The defense is still in the top half of talent. This isn’t the SEC of 5-10 years ago. The entire conference is down in talent.
The oline may be overrated but that’s on the coaches.

Our old coach realizing that it LOOKS like it might be easier to nab a title at LSU, but it's at least as easy get clobbered on a regular basis, if your guys "lack attention to details."
On a serious note: I wonder if Kelly's "detailed" constructions (which are great only if everything works like a clock) just don't fit the culture of SEC football? In those atmospheres it seems to me that breakdowns are magnified and those opposing athletes ram them up your butt immediately when you screw up. He might just be too complicated or most teams other than ... well, almost anyone.
I remember when LSU football got bad during the Ed O. days, is this where the program is going?
If he hasn't already BK is going to lose the locker room? Does Underwood stay committed?
This thread is getting entertaining!
I think Kelly felt "stuck" at ND until something better came along and I still think LSU keeps Kelly after this season. Kelly turned the culture around ND's football program, but he couldn't win the big game like he can't at LSU. I say LSU keeps Sloan to hold onto Underwood, but this time next season if things don't turn around BK could be gone.Sadly, that’s our problem. I remember a 2 win team under Curley Hallman. I remember 3 and 4 win seasons under Gerry DiNardo. Kelly’s been 10-4 (2022), 10-3 (2023), and currently 6-4. It’s not great. With the exception of 2022, it’s not what we expect and/our the standard. But it’s also not terrible. The overwhelming majority of schools would love those results.
LSU isn’t Texas A&M — meaning, they can’t afford a $70 million buyout. We’re, unfortunately, “stuck” right now, in purgatory.
I do think he’s losing players … when you have upperclassmen (one being a leader) suspended, that isn’t good. We’ve lost 3 in a row and I think they have and/or are mailing it on. The fans have. You’ll have half-assed, pussyfooting results in the next two games. There’s nothing left to play for — including Kelly. The team won’t rally around him.
Sadly, we’re stuck between a rock and a hard place with Underwood as well. Joe Sloan, in my opinion, isn’t the answer at OC. However, Underwood purportedly LOVES him. If Sloan’s out, so is Underwood. Circling back around, we’re kinda “stuck.”
I know this is probably irrelevant - or if it's been stated in the posts so far - but I saw this last night.....

Yup!
Please give him another 4-5 years to get it right LSU!
