Hell no. Give me Penn State or someone like that.

How about a 5-7 michigan team? Even with a depleted ND defense, they could surely hold up against Brady Joke and his azz-wipe clowns .... you think? :)

I bet we will play Tennessee on the Music City Bowl.

Would be an interesting match-up. Like us, they play a ton of first and second year guys. Their OL has been the biggest problem for them. Like Willingham did to us, Derek Dooley did a horrible job of recruiting that position and now it's causing problems. That's the thing about a terrible college coach, the issues don't stop once they leave. Looks like Jones is getting them in the right direction.

I've read that Butch Jones receives a lot of love from within the coaching circle for how good of a coach he really is.

I really don't care who it is they just need to take the time off and get healthy enough. Put up a good showing in all phases of the game. F-ing kickoff return is pissing me off to no end!

If we hadnt gone to crap I would be excited to face the SEC. Now I doibt we could beat anyone and dont want to get blown out by a mediocre SEC team. Pinstripe is best option because a loss to Maryland or Rutgers is not noteworthy enough to be an embarassment.

I'd like to avoid the SEC because all of their bowl eligible teams besides maybe Tennessee would kill us.

Disagree completely. The only way to salvage this season would be by beating a decent SEC team. That could give lift and credibility and if, hey, we got embarrassed well it couldn't be a worse feeling then where we are at right now getting blown out by our biggest rival.

That would be the kind of momentum we need if next year is going to bring a fresh attitude.

I want an SEC team in a bowl game. Heck, we might have a healthy Riggs and Day for that game

I agree , I think beating an SEC team would definitely give a huge boost to the players and hell, even the coaching staff. The coaches have gotta be just as, maybe even more frustrated and disappointed then the players based on the potential they saw to the start of the season with such a young team. Winning against a subpar non-SEC opponent by 7 or 10 (If we could hit a FG?) may not bring our spirits or mindsets up like it would against a win against a solid SEC school.

My concern with not playing a good/decent SEC team would be us going and playing a team like Vtech or Penn State and getting smashed like we did against USC. At least if we were to get beat down by an SEC team, certain people would have of expected it based on our performance against USC and these last 5 games. So to me it wouldn't be as much of a surprise or devastating to our players like a loss would be to Vtech or Penn State (just for example purposes) would.

Skip the $#@% bowl game and ask the NCAA if they can just have practices-we stink. Yeh play an sec team and get beat by 50- what a joke. What the team put on the field against southern cal (injuries and bruised mentally or not) was the worst I've ever seen. I literally wanted sc to run up the score. Sark showed great class, they could have won by 60 pts. No way no how this team is in any shape next year to be in the playoff- no way, they don't have it boys. Its called heart. And that really hurts to say that. Go Irish my $#@. I'm not watching them in any bowl game and its not because it will be a bad bowl-its because this is a poor excuse for a Notre Dame football team.

I hear yeh sherm-I am on the %$#@&^% ledge. How can this football team have that kind of personnel gap injuries or not. If they are that bad then there is something big time wrong in South Bend Indiana. Is this world war 2 and we need Navy's second string cadets along with any warm body from the student section. My God man this is Notre Dame-that team could not have beaten a Div 2 team.

I've been to every home game since 2007 and Charlie's final season was tough. It was tough because it was a talented squad that lost there games by an average of 4 points. That team could easily have gone undefeated, but it didnt happen and Charlie got shown the door. But if you wanna slam Weis that's fine but I don't seem to remember in his 5th SEASON getting pummeled by any opponent.

Weis underachieved badly with the talent he had on his roster. Kelly proved that in his first season. If Tate, Clausen and Rudolph had stuck around they could have played on a BCS caliber team in 2010.

He also didn't have injuries and suspensions like this team. This USC game is one of the few blowout loses Kelly has had in his five years.

At least they aren't good at it. 64th in passing. 103rd in rushing. 77th in points for.

look a lot of those numbers come from the horrid start they had...since they put the dobbs kid in at qb and went to the spread they've been much better...competitive...we are so injured and down, im not sure who we can beat...they would be out of their minds to play us (as would many others) and it looks to me like we just wanna end this season...im not so sure about 2015 anymore...not sure wed be favored against anyone in a bowl game at this point...

That runs a spread offense. I really think they would smash ND and that's sad.

youre absolutely right...and yes, its very very sad...we even hold our breath when we kick a fccckkking extra point...the fsu sss-fccking was a dagger through the heart...theyre so ready for this to be over

you may well be right, but don't slam Charlie totally...he got us out of the shtt that Willingham gave us...and, don't forget, those guys were a year older and more experienced when Kelly got here...maybe if weis had one more year things would have been different...who knows
