You're over thinking this. We'll be in the BCS with 2 losses because of $$$ alone.

Just win, win, win, win...

Thought thinking was part of a discussion board :). I agree on the $$. I also think the top 14 could be log jammed with a bunch of SEC teams, 1 or 2 zero loss non-BCS teams, conference champions, etc.. While winning out gives us a great shot I admit, it's no guarantee. Personally I think we come out on the short end of a toughly fought battle with the tree. I hope not, but I'd be OK with going to another winnable bowl so long as it's somewhere sunny and warm.

Why are we ranked behind Wisconsin? Both have two losses with us having 6 wins vs their 5. They have losses to ASU and OSU and their best win is over a tumbling Northwestern while we have wins over MSU and ASU.

yep, was thinking the same thing, but already accused of overthinking LOL. Not sure why were are currently behind ASU as well.

Thought thinking, what a wonderful concept. :) Personally I think we beat the tree and win a BCS bowl.

We can easily make cases for being ranked ahead of some of these 2 loss teams. But I have a hard time being upset about it at this juncture. The more unfair rankings come with teams like Fresno State who plays no one and isn't good being ranked at all.

We win out, we will be in. Plenty of teams in that top25 will loose again...

What is perplexing to me is LSU ranked in the top 15 with 2 losses to unranked teams....what a joke. They were up 20-16 at the half against Furman last night!

Id like to see someone look at the net result to rankings between games ex:

SC beat mizzou, result : Mizgoes down 5, Scar up 7, net SEC gain=2, I wonder how often this happens to other conferences, when they have two top 25 teams

Maybe they saw how vulnerable our offense is when Tommy goes down...

That's all I got.

Most teams aren't judged on their backup quarterback.
I do think the lack of blowouts (before yesterday) hurts us. Voters who don't watch games (which is to say: Voters) generally prefer video game scores to teams that win with defense.
Funny thing is: The best thing for our SOS would be for ASU and MSU to keep winning. I just hope one of them doesn't somehow edge us out of the BCS top 14.

Hope you are right. Honestly winning a bowl is more important to me than which bowl this year. Just don't want a repeat of last year. Living in the South now has been brutal for a year. I would simply love playing an SEC team in any bowl and whooping up on them. Especially UGA, UF, or SC. Miami wouldn't be a bad game either.

I am pretty sure you are being sarcastic, but to that I say: then what would be the point of playing the starting QB if they are going to judge anything on the backup. :)

Yes....

Why ND is not 20-22 blows the mind. Thus, the best answer must be that they saw the offense and only the offense against Usc post tommy headache.

This is why that recent insufferable fan poll was bull... In fact I'm almost positive they exclusively polled the south... Anyway, how can a fanbase be more obnoxious and delusional than tOSU fans??

Those first few minutes of the OU game are basically worth 15 spots in the polls...

Not ranked in the Ap. Behind ASU and MSU. Of course.

The record of Mich State's FBS beaten opponents is 15-30. That doesn't include a win against Div 1AA Youngstown State. That's ridiculous.

The Notre Dame Pollsters' Paradox: The Irish are too horrible to rank in the Top 25 no matter who they beat, but not so rotten that losing to them hurts the teams they beat.

Glad to see us ranked. It's only up from here. I think we can roll into Palo Alto within striking distance of a BCS game. I've grown tired of seeing us getting blown out in BCS games so if we make it one I want to actually win one damnit. Give me some BCS buster team or something I don't care. For once I want ND to have a happy ending at the season.

We all know about the SEC favoritism in regards to this crap... But I'd love to see if your point holds any real weight,... Wouldn't be shocked if it actually does

What was the final score, since that's what actually matters? LSU beat Auburn and is ranked behind them, you forgot that. They played UGA when they were healthy and a bad loss to Ole Miss. I have no issues since I think they would beat half the teams in the top 10.
