Wish I could rep this guy drjellyfinger, he said, over on cbssportsline, in the comments to the current BCS standings:
"I thought last weeks article questioning if Alabama could beat a bad NFL team was the pinnacle of absurdity, but now I see how the BCS formula worked out this week and we have reached new, scarier heights. Scary because it's not just some bloated, water boy media type posing a ridiculous question. The BCS is essentially saying that no team (except the unbeaten) would finish higher than 7th in the SEC! I don't care who you support, that is not reality. I have watched plenty of SEC games this year to know that wildly inconsistent offense alone should rule out several of the SEC teams front loaded in the rankings. Talk about exposing major credibility issues within the BCS formula. All I need to know is if the same idiot who posed the Alabama vs NFL question has a vote? If it looks like a fish, swims like a fish and smells fishy, it usually is! "
and then:
"Put another way, (after taking a look at the SEC standings) the BCS rankings indicate no team would fair better than where Vanderbilt is currently ranked in conference. Uh, sure."
Well said sir.
