While it's nice to have a place to come and get away from the drama of real life, a sanitized board with all like minded individuals leads to dead traffic and boring discussions. I've been on boards for other teams that push out opposing fans as well as posters that offer a lot of dissenting opinions. They turn into ghost towns, the conversation dies.

You can't break the rules, and you don't want completely insufferable posters that will drive others away, but you need a koon or two that can follow the rules and play devil's advocate.

This where we’ll agree to disagree. I come here to talk Notre Dame football with people because I don’t any friends that like them. I don’t need fuckwads to “spice up” the board.

I also find signing up on other team’s board as odd behavior, but maybe that’s just me.

Some other team boards are quite welcoming of other fans and it leads to some interesting discussions. It's also provided some new thread ideas over here, stuff I've personally stolen...the now defunct Gentleman's Club being one
