Kuntehnja has already declared his loyalty for IrishPatty. It was a brash decision but a necessary one. They shared a common friendship and without his better half, Kuntehnja would be target el numero uno. GoIrish41 quickly pledged his support, but few other big names can be counted on to join him. However, they seems to have secured the support of the IrishEnvy middle: The posters that aren’t recognized, but are the ones that keep the site going. They may not have the names, but they have the numbers.

Opposed is most of the IrishEnvy Nobilty. Notably KPENNis, IrishLAXitive, and strongly voiced by the Big LeBlowski alliance of WoolyJack. The return of Irishpat can only undermine their newfound hegemony over the site.

Of Dubious intentions is ACrAMPS. Both parties vigorously court his loyalty as a method to secure victory. However, rumor is he intends to play both side, and means to strike when both parties are weak. Seizing the IrishEnvy throne for himself. He may have the means as well, his 17,000 post are enough to threaten even the great BIGF. But one has to wonder what support one can gather with an avatar featuring an underage oriental women (or is the correct nomenclature china-women?).

What irreversible consequences can arise from this battle? Many neg reps will be given-- yes, threads may even go off topic this is the obvious. But contemplate the bigger issues…. Yes...I’m talking about a completely open “banished-void-portal”. If that even opens for a second imagine what mayhem might come though. Neutered? Ant80? Even the Gator or the Wolverine… or…. God….. Forbid….. Epitome……

Why do I get the feeling I will be creating family crests in Photoshop in the near future.

If you guys miss Pat so much, what about a democratic vote to see if he should be reinstated? 2/3 majority of voters approve, he comes back in. No bribing mods required then

I don't really care either way, just presenting an option. On occasions Pat may be funny (Even if it's just self deprecating foolishness) , but I feel for the mods that have to dedicate their time to clean up after him.

It's not true that he'd completely ignore every point, every time. And when you say something against the status quo like Pat often did on here, (and furthermore lack tact when doing so) it's impossible to address every post that fires back at you, because there's a bunch of posters that jump on the pile once they smell blood.

I like Pat because he posted his opinion and held nothing back. Posters who add nothing to the board in regards to intelligent discussion and just say 'good post BGIF', or 'you're an idiot Pat' are held in much higher regard than people who aren't afraid to call it like they see it. It's easy to be a follower, and love him or hate him, Pat was not a follower.

I'm not saying he didn't cross lines, he did sometimes. We all have (well, besides the back patters). And I thought his Mario Williams comparison was bonkers, but I don't really have a problem with someone having an opinion different than mine. Unless they do it like an arrogant asshole.

Keep in mind this is coming from a poster who doesn't have to deal with messed up threads (I'm only a contributor to the mess ). But this is how I feel. If I were a mod, it'd probably be different, and I have no problem with IrishLax banning him.

But I'm not for kicking people off for life, unless they're completely over board in racist, filled with hate, or just literally stupid and troll. Pat aside, if some 18 year old Irish fan is new to the board and doesn't know how to conduct himself, I think by say, 25 when he's out of college, he might mature and be able to behave. This example sounds stupid, but I know if I were banned, I would learn how to post differently because I'd miss this board because you guys are the only place I can talk Irish.

I think pat was just an internet tough guy, of marginal intelligence, and a troll. I applaud people for standing up for what is right, not for just blinding standing up and saying that there is no fuckin' way that their view could even possibly be wrong. That was the way I saw pat; he wasn't some kind of working class hero, or any other such noble crap. He was a small minded guy who thought that he was the smartest guy in every room that he walked into.

But your experience was obviously different from mine. I'm not trying to convince you that pat was something different than what you saw him as, or that you should be some kind of conformist. I'm just offering my own personal view of pat. And, based on my view, I say "Good riddance".
