The problem is that we’ve been spinning our wheels for so fucking long, the program has collective health issues when it comes to being legit winners in a sport where winning is the ultimate goal.

The self-professed experts who come in here and lecture many of us about football, Notre Dame, and how inept everyone is are the by-product of ND football flexing for 30+ fucking years like a big program and ultimately not doing much besides hold water in the end. Which really fucking sucks, because entitlement breeds an inflated sense of oneself, and it’s getting more difficult each year to be like we’ll get it next year.

So, having posters who formerly played in the Big10 yet want to armchair every dick and ball play and fire every coach or anti-mask guys who voted for whatever putz and read 1984 (incorrectly) or gumbo LSU lovers or sociopathic blitz posters who want to dog 3 star athletes has become the accepted norm, because as far as the sport itself is concerned, ND has only sniffed greatness in football while still acting like the highest standard in the sport. We are too self-obsessed at times. The pageantry of Notre Dame is missing an important part of the mystique, because the mystique needs to be actual victories, actual titles.

Posters who have experienced and valued a fuller spectrum of the University can incorporate all the other reasons why Notre Dame is special and maintain a balanced perspective that acknowledges other components of the program that encourage fandom. I include a lot of this to maintain a healthier perspective on life, but fuck if I’m not competitive too like all of us here.

None of us can really keep a straight face and say we’re the real deal as a football program, and haven’t been able to for a long fucking time. ND football has been an important part of my life, and I can respect and value the other components of success that go into the University and program, but as far as football is concerned, we’ve been blowing it for decades upon decades now and the same tropes have really become quite grating.

In short, for many of us long time fans, we can’t be hoodwinked as a fanbase. We know what we are, but to have posters come in and try to say that we’ve been conned and don’t know just how bad it is, that’s where many of us are like, get the fuck out of here with your bullshit.

For those of you with a ban complex, understand you are in a community that knows its shit and has earned it stripes, so pretend less you have all the answers and dialogue in ways that aren’t so fucking repetitive, because we’ve read your dry script for 30 plus years now.

right. they werent making money off koon's every post and all the replies and discourse that follows. they had no reason to make a decision that benefited the then owners, just decisions on policing the board.

Now the decision is muddy water. If they ban and continue to ban, they are only short changing their own pockets.

Bingo...........Simply because most posters don't go into infinite detail of a defense, scheme, play, etc., doesn't mean we don't understand the game. I would guess 90% - 95% understand the game at a very good level.
