B1G is interesting to me this year, it seems more top-heavy than a year ago (PSU, OSU, Oregon seem like the only sure things). People are hyping up teams like Nebraska and Illinois; Nebraska had a horrible second half last year and didn't really play well against the tougher opponents on their schedule a year ago, and Illinois historically has never had back-to-back solid seasons. I'm just curious if they'll cave under the weight of their own hype, but their schedule is pretty weak.

Meanwhile people are writing off IU as a flash in the pan, even though they seemingly did pretty well in the transfer portal and don't play anybody. Michigan? They lost a lot of talent on a 9 win team a year ago and likely have a true Fresh QB.

Of course, there are surprises every year. Team like Sparty seemingly doesn't have a ton of talent, but a QB with a high ceiling (Chiles). Curious who it will be.

I see IU doing well again this year, but next year they have Ohio State, Michigan, and USC. They could drop all three of those, and maybe a 4th. If I'm Cig and he has another successful year with a relatively soft schedule, I'm parlaying that into a job somewhere else. I don't see IU being sustainable.

IU’ history says no, but my understanding is they are willing to play the NIL game. Next year should tell us if he’s a good coach or not.

If I’m Indiana I’m doing exactly what they are doing,… get as many wins on the schedule now and worry about beefing up the schedule once you’re a bit more established. This is what I wanted ND to do for years when they were spinning their wheels forever

Iron sharpens iron. Idc if ND won 11 games and got pantsed against the only two teams they played on their schedule like IU did. Cool, you beat up on Purdue and Nebraska. How did you do against OSU and ND?

Cig is a paper tiger and a coward. He talks more shit than any two coaches combined and backs it up by running away from UVA? Lol

You think Cig came up with dumping UVa to duck a loss, then walked into Dolson's office and told him to make it happen?

Or do you think maybe Dolson didn't want to give up his 7th home game the year they played at UVa?

Unfortunately, I wasn't a fly on the wall when those discussions were happening and all I/we can do is comment on the headlines that are shared with the greater masses. However, I'm sure Cig was plenty plugged in on those discussions about their scheduling model.

We all saw him talking shit on the Gameday set in SB last December. We heard his pregame interview in November in Columbus about the "narrative that is out there that puts another chip on our shoulder and people can shove their narrative up their you know what." Then they double down on watered down schedules. Laughable

That's a complete knee jerk reaction; PSU has three brand new transfers who immediately jumped to the top of the depth chart. We'll see if it works out for them but their offensive projections for this year can't really be based on their Orange Bowl performance from last winter based on roster turnover.

7 auto bids for the B1G is so ridiculous. Laugh out loud absurd stuff coming from the delusional folks in that conference. Michigan at 5-4 in conference would have made it last year.
