There was a racial slur incident. The interesting part was the kid who said the slur was a baseball player at Georgia. He was suspended immediately and he transferred to North Greenville University. That was all done to try and keep Fields at UGA.

I don't know if there was an actual lawsuit, but it was the reason that Fields gave for leaving and the NCAA granted him immediate eligibility as a result.

Fields never filed a public suit. He lawyered up and got immediately eligibility when he transferred but none of the proceedings were public. It was reported that Fields and his representatives used the incident to get an exception from the NCAA.
