Leonard will have better WRs, RBs, TEs and, fingers crossed, OL than he ever had at Duke. That “should” elevate his game notably and enable the ND offense to cook the A&M defense in the Texas heat.
I agree, but I assumed the same with Sam. Sam Hartman is probably a little different because of the offense they ran at Wake Forest, but my expectations were higher than his actual performance.

I think ND also sold him on running a particular offense to prepare him for the NFL. They had to keep him in the fold after Rees left and was trying to pull him to Alabama. This hypothetical would explain completely abandoning some things Sam was good at.

Hopefully if I'm right about that, they have learned their lesson.

Sam was a special case... ND's supporting cast should have absolutely elevated him.

But as it turns out, Wake's system was so much better than Parker's (and Wake's WR's so underrated) that Hartman didn't get to flourish in a one-year transition.

I think had Rees stuck around for another year, Hartman would've lit the world on fire. But that's just speculation.

Would any of us be upset if they put out a graphic with corn?

It's not our fault a majority of your state looks like that.....

Whole lot of angst from a remarkably mediocre program. For those traveling to the game, I wouldn’t expect a warm welcome. It’s a bizarre fan group
It's all because of recruiting rankings and Elko.

It's hard to predict these things in May, but I agree that defense and run games tend to travel. If they gel the right 5 guys up front in August, ND will win comfortably.

Also helps that Leonard can use his legs to hurt defenses, should help relieve the pressure on him to produce in the passing game. I just don't see ND giving up too many points to many teams this year.

RTDB, stop the run, profit.
I love this. So true.

I would. Indiana has the 3rd best corn of the I states, gotta lead with something a bit better. Maybe meth from Seymour

And the Mellencamp mural. But don't leave Terre Haute out of the mix for meth heads as well (and well, rednecks, Scheid Diesel Extravaganza and penitentiaries, too).

When it comes to meth, Terre Haute can't hold a candle to their neighbors in Brazil. lol

Agreed although I think the WR room last year was substantially less explosive than what we appear to have this year (especially after some of the guys got hurt). I would also add our OC should also prove to be an upgrade. I think Denbrock would have made a difference last year, especially against the better teams where some additional creativity was needed.

Since we’re talking about southern Indiana, I’d like to point out that Scottsburg has been consistently voted the most redneck town in Indiana.

50% of me: Welcome to the site and thanks for your contributions!

50% of me: The nearest tar-pit is 10 miles from here. Kindly walk towards it.

This is the sheer duality of man you have wandered into Aggie. Great times are had by all.
Wouldn’t have it any other way. Lol thans man.

Welcome to the forum. We have a couple other SEC guys who lurk in here, and we always appreciate the opposing viewpoint.
For sure. I’m far from an expert but I pay attention to the program and welcome any questions. This kind of talk is always fun. There’s a couple ND guys on what’s basically the A&M version of this thread over on the TexAgs forums and that got me curious and I wandered my way in here.

Welcome! We do appreciate opposing viewpoints as others mentioned. Trolls get the boot, but you don't seem that way. We love Elko around here obviously, he helped transform our defense until he headed your way the first time. FWIW, this is the game I'm most worried about on our schedule this year. I think you guys still have a ton of talent and Elko knows how to develop them. Your environment is tough to play in, especially at night. There will be a ton of momentum for whoever wins this one I think.
Thanks! But yeah, you pretty much nailed it. We’re excited about Elko and his staff, confident in all of our position groups except maybe O-line. It really feels like A&M is going to be the kind of team that looks totally transformed by week 13 compared to week 1. Meshing a completely new staff with a team with that many transfers that quickly is incredibly difficult no matter who is coaching. Home field advantage is great but to be honest I’d trade home field advantage for a ND game in the back half of our schedule.

Aggie here. I’m well aware of my possible bias, but I’d be shocked if the Majority of ND fans who attend the game don’t have a great fan experience. Talking with other SEC fans, the one topic that makes them take a break from dunking on us for our cult vibes and “all male cheerleaders” and actually give us credit for is hospitality. Every game I’ve personally been to we end up adopting some opposing fans at the tailgate and share some food and beer and what not.

I know quite a few Aggies here in Texas and I gotta back you up. They don't have a reputation for being downright hostile like ND fans have seen at Miami or scUM or even from the Buckeyes.

I’m really mad that Johnny football made them somewhat a thing.

I'm sure they're good people, but the last 30 seconds of this video is so homoerotic it borders on parody and it's all I can think of when I think of Texas A&M.

You know I thought you were being a little ridiculous and then I watched the video, nothing like having your bros carry you to a fountain where you swim around in 2 feet of water while wearing your milk man uniform as all the bros scream and yell about how wet and cool you are

Maybe in overall quantity, but not quality at the number 1 spot!

It was one good season more than a decade ago. Baylor and Kansas State were both better that very same season and they are not a thing.

A&M is a thing because it’s in Texas and is willing to spend obscene amounts of money to win. But they rarely actually win anything of note beyond the occasional upset in a regular season game.

OMG.
Also, it's a huge school so I assume they have some normal students, but do you have to belong to some sort of paramilitary organization to get tickets to the football game? Every student you see in that video looks like they're straight off the base.

lol I get it. But I mean as a college football fan, the weird crap is the crap I love. A tradition formed in a completely different time. And to their credit, I haven’t seen any cheerleading squad in CFB that instantly gets the crowd in sync making some crazy loud noise. It looks absolutely hilarious without a crowd or a small crowd, but it’s impressive with 110,000 people following their lead.
