Maybe I’m wrong but outside of a handful of calls, I thought the play calling has been good. RL has missed so many opportunities- including 9 wide open in the end zone on 2nd and goal.

I don't think it's fair to say Leonard missed Ford on that play- there was a guy draped all over him. It's not an easy feat to throw a ball accurately 10 yards with a guy pulling you down

I don't have a big problem with how Leonard has been playing. Any offense is gonna be hamstrung when the offensive line is a weakness. This is going exactly how I expected. Hope we grind out the win

The conversation the entire year will be how much do they need to run Leonard to get offensive production.

They likely feel like they need to “protect” him to some degree. But are realizing that it’s a necessity to his success.

Yeah, protecting him is completely limiting the offense especially when you throw in the inexperience along the OL.

If he always hit the open receivers, he wouldn't be characterized as a "work in progress" as a thrower. Plus he didn't get any reps in spring

Our defense began a little shaky but has been locked in since the late first quarter. We need to settle down on offense, maybe run the ball some instead of these screen and swing passes, eat clock, get a lead, and we’ll be fine here.
