If you told me before the game that Notre Dame held A&M to 6 and was +2 in turnovers, I'd have been happy because that means we probably have a two possession lead.

Alas...
It’s coming. They’re dropping like flies. The Texas team is the one cramping up. We roll in the second half.

My main takeaway is Knapp and Pendalton are struggling, which is expected. I understand that they are the future. But were they the best option to start at Kyle Field infront of 103,000 crazy fans in their first career action ever? Probably would have been safer to start Baker and Coogan/Spinder tonight. But that is not the long term plan.

Wiegman has been worse than Leonard.

Not giving up in RL yet. He seems to be a rhythm guy... Just gotta get him in the flow. Oline hasn't been horrible. Denbrock gotta make some adjustments... Irish is a decent spot

Think denbrocks game plan was knowing they were going to be aggressive and that our oline was an unknown to have a vertical passing game. They found some stuff that works in the running game towards the end and just have to have Leonard keep it on those reads. The outside is open for him. I'd expect a couple of shots deep in the second half

I think that big punt after the Howard sack kept A&M in it. We would have at least gotten to 9-6 and it is conceivable that would be enough.

I'm more confident we win this game now then ever before. ATM is not a deep team and they have had a ton of injuries so far. You can tell they are getting worn out.

Defense found it's footing but man the don't trust Leonard at all to go down field. The line is holding up and starting to get a push but we have to hit something down field

The conversation the entire year will be how much do they need to run Leonard to get offensive production.

They likely feel like they need to “protect” him to some degree. But are realizing that it’s a necessity to his success.
