Top 15 by the time SC comes to town?

Looking at who plays who in week 7 my first answer is probably not. My second answer is it doesn't matter.

ND will move up to at least #20 this week, maybe jump one of the non-P5 undefeated's and get into the teens.

Most important is where ND stands in resume. ESPN Power Rankings has them at #16.

Here's the just released and never questionable CrusaderIndex:

1. Clemson
2. Bama
3. Georgia
4. TCU
5. Washington St
6. Penn St
7. Washington
8. Wisconsin
9. Miami
10. Auburn
11. Notre Dame
12. Virginia Tech

Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio St, USC, Ok St, Utah all have worse losses.

SDSU and USF don't count.

Unfortunately, I don't think Notre Dame moves up more than 1-2 slots. I don't see voters putting the Irish above undefeated USF and SDSU; those teams move up one slot each. Also, how high do the voters want to bump NC State for knocking off L'Ville? Does NC St leapfrog Notre Dame? I don't see the Irish moving up to more than 19-20 this week. They may have a better chance of moving up more slots on their bye week. If there's total carnage in the mid to low teens and several teams take a second loss, Notre Dame could jump a few spots.

Agreed.

Let's keep it that way.

We have a gauntlet to run through, and if we emerge unscathed we'll be playing play off football.

USC

NC St

Miami

Stanford

^ those teams all remain. Incredible.

Plus a trap game or two.

Navy is in those trap games but they're 5-0 and get UCF at home before the play ND. Navy legit could be #15 or so if they stay undefeated before ND.

I think they'll rise four spots to #17.

The remaining schedule may be the toughest in the country.

BYE
vs Southern Cal
vs North Carolina State
vs Wake Forest
at Miami
vs Navy
at Stanford

Even Wake Forest is sneaky good this year. They've played Clemson and Florida State tough.

But the computers love ND this year because they have the Irish either well favored or toss ups with Miami and Stanford.

So ESPN updated its FPI rankings and has ND 10. Curious to see what actual rankings will look like.

Looking at the FPI ND has the toughest remaining schedule of those ahead of them. Predicting a 9-3 record at season's end.

Looking at their Power Rankings I see TCU, Wisconsin, PSU, Wash, Wisc, Okl, ... Several teams that do not impress IMO.

Well, as mentioned, ND will have their opportunities moving fwd.

Their rankings certainly represent their play over the recent years. Seems everyone who has backed the Irish, myself included, consistently get burned.

Here's hoping that what I have seen on the field this year is what I see moving fwd. Very pleased to date.

It’s funny when the discussion is how difficult Notre Dames final 6 are.

Who Has played a harder first 6 games.

With all the FCS schools being played, I would argue, ND scheduled one of the more difficult first 6 games.

If Sparty is a 9-3 team, I agree. If they're a 7-5 team, meh. We're not sure which they are yet.

Sparty crushed Iowa and beat up Michigan in Ann Arbor. But I digress.

Other than Temple and Miami at Ohio, ND scheduled power 5 teams in the first 6 games and Temple isn’t a cupcake. You can’t blame ND for UNC’s injuries.
