I don't know for sure ...but while we are waiting I'll speculate. Guy has a permit to carry, sitting in a car, with a woman and child with TWO cops approaching...and I'm supposed to believe he did something intentionally provocative? I guess we'll see. Until we hear I will speculate this one was a bad shoot.
I gotta agree with Buster here...yes they teach you all of that in CC class...but You have TWO cops on the scene...if the COP who shot was in control here, he could have diffused this. If a guy is telling you he has a weapon...you think he is really going to shoot you...
I'll contend the victim didn't do his part, but the cop also did it wrong. He could have drawn, backed up, had his partner come up on the other side, drawn, and walked the guy through hands on the wheel, hands outside the window, open the car door from outside, step out with hands up, frisk, and take the weapon, and go back to the traffic stop.
We'll see what the cops say...but this one STIIIINKS. Smells like the Cop did not process what he was being told correctly, and panicked...otherwise, what's there to "resolve"?

You're nailing the issue here and I don't think you know it.
Crime is correlated to income. Blacks are poorer on average, they commit more crime on average. We then turn around and stereotype every black guy as a thug, and cops go around shooting too many of them under questionable circumstances because of stereotyping. That's the message of black lives matter to me, not every black guy is a murderer/rapist who is expendable just because their race commits more crimes.
It doesn't matter of he's white or not. He could be black.
Racism in it's literal form is dead. Few people walk around saying that blacks cannot accomplish X because of their genetic makeup. But we absolutely do have an urban vs suburban/rural divide, and it just so happens that blacks primarily live in urban environments (as I['ve brought up 1000x before, REDLINING), and are poorer and so we stereotype them as one moment away from blowing our heads off if we don't hurry up and shoot them repeatedly at the first sign of trouble...

In terms of income's correlation to crime, then how do you explain the fact that it does not hold true for Hispanics?
Also BTW, rural vs urban victimization rates are the same as it correlates to poverty.

It looks like two officers down reportedly shot at the Dallas protests. Fox News cameras caught the two bodies on the ground. Active search for the shooter.

I see people all the time arguing that we shouldn't bundle all police together just because there is a few bad apples. Lets do the same for the protesters, just because one or two protesters are horrible people, doesn't make all of the protesters bad or violent.
I am all for peaceful protesting but acts of aggression like this should be swiftly punished (the people doing the harm, not all the protesters) and the protesters hopefully will point out who did it, so that justice can be served.

Reporter on scene said the guy on the bullhorn was screaming F the police before shots were fired. Not saying this caused it because someone brought a gun, but it does help incite the crowd.
Eyewitness said several guys came to the protest with rifles. That does not sound like they were planning on remaining peaceful.

Crime rates across the country are soaring. As we know, though, black lives only matter if they are taken by non-blacks, thus feeding The Narrative.

yea...someone knows. If people want their movement to be taken seriously (in the right way) then they simply cannot allow this in their midst...ever. People will start showing up to protect the cops with their own guns...then we know what happens from there.

I was watching Fox News live when it went down. They were on the scene right away. One of the officers on the ground never moved the whole time they were filming. Fox has chosen not to replay that initial video. The other downed officer did have fellow officers checking on him so I hope that means he had a chance of surviving.
